sorry this is a bit of a moan I am really sufferring after a trip down to london
I had a massive flare on my return which has eased enough today for me to just about return to work even though i'm in terrible pain and stiff as a board.
I went to see my friend in his one man show and it was wonderful, I just wish that trips like this didn't wear me out so much - it was made 10 times worse by the state of the trains due to the lack of planes mine had no seats left at all - the train company's website wasn't working properly so when I bought my ticket I couldn't book a seat I thought nothing of it at the time as it was a mid afternoon train that isn't usually very busy but thanks to the current circumstances I had to sit on my suitcase on the way down. No chance of anybody giving up a seat to me - I might be disabled but i'm also young so sympathy goes out the window
I'm so glad I finally got a chance to go and I don't regret it for a minute but ending up a wreck like this after 2 days in london just depresses me. i'm 31 just wish i didn't feel like I'm 101

    Hiya

    Oh poor you :(

Rant away  Feel free :)

I am glad you had such a lovely time and the show was amazing, but I am sorry it took it's toll on you like this :(

Bet some 101 year olds feel fitter than us lot on a bad day.

Such a shame you couldnt book a seat - that would probably have made all the difference. Next time eh??

Hope you are still glad you went and I bet your friend was glad you were there.

    Love

    Hi Chrissie

What a nightmare! I would have hated that!

Sounds like you had a great few days apart from the journey home. Don't get too despondent - they were exceptional circumstances and sitting on a suitcase on a train floor for hours is not good for anyone's joints or muscles - with or without arthritis. I'm sure next time you go to London you'll come home tired, because you've had a good time, but you won't be as bad as you were this time..

Hope you feel better after another night's sleep.

    Best wishes

    Hi Chrissie,

what a shame...to have been looking forward to seeing your friend on stage....only to suffer afterwards because of arther/ no seat and the travel probs.

I am glad the performance lived up to expectations...but... am now so curious as to who it was you went to see.. :?:

be sure to rest and let hubby look after you (hand and foot...no half measures!)

    Hi Chrissie,

So sorry to hear your journey home was so unpleasant, and so uncomfortable.

We went to Florida last October - the journey there was a doddle as I'd had a steroid jab just before leaving, but it wore off while there and by the time I stepped off the plane back in the UK, I ached everywhere!

Make sure you get plenty of rest, and hopefully you'll be feeling back to your old self soon.

Aaw sorry to hear that. I understand totally what you mean havign just come back from New York, I am still paying the price and it really limited me while I was away, I only got to watch half of Mamma Mia on Brodway as I was in too much pain to sit through it and was left to hobble back to the hotel in tears alone as my friends stayed to watch the performance. Other peopel don't understand either as like you I'm young, I'm 34 and no one thinks for a minute you have a chronic illness. Hope you are ok now and hopefully next time you're travel is easier and that might make the symptoms less severe. :0) Take care clare x

This made me laugh, 2 weeks ago I picked up my 82 yr old Gram from hospital after 3 weeks in following a heart attack. The nurse asked her if she wanted a wheelchair down she said no thanks but I think my granddaughter could do with one   .. my husband and the nurse were in stitches. Im 38!!
Then as we were leaving the ward I had to ask her to walk slower as I couldn't keep up :!:
    keep smiling

    Hi

I went to London last year with OH when he was on business and it nearly killed me too. I decided rather foolishly to to to Leicester Square whilst he was in a meeting and when I couldn't take it anymore I popped in the cinema and watched a film while I waited to OH. Thankfully I had taken my stick and some a few kind souls managed to give me a seat on the train. I'm sure it finished me off because a month later I was in the wheelchair!!!:lol:

Have a nice hot bath and chill.

At least it wasn't a wasted day and you enjoyed seeing your pal.

You'll need another day to recover! Your pal is lucky to have such a good friend in you.

Thanks everybody for your kind replies...i've been taking it easy and
I am steadily feeling a bit better, although I do feel like I’ve been through the wringer, flare is on its way back down yay :D
Iris – I went to see my friend Rob Benson in a show called Borderline – it was a one man show about borderline personality disorder and taking drugs etc. very very intense but incredibly well performed. I have known Rob for many years as he was my first ever proper boyfriend and we have remained friends for many years , so I have keenly followed his career. He has performed this particular show in London , Edinburgh, Bristol & New York and this has been the first chance I had to go. I’m glad I did as it was absolutely brilliant. He is a stage actor but if you look carefully he is currently appearing on Dave Weekends Standard Life Idents....as the Dave pushy dad.
Unfortunately hubby is still in a grump that I went to see an ex (we split up 15 yrs ago!!!! and are both now married) so has been less than sympathetic (childish springs to mind) and has been reluctant to help in any way so i’ve been left to recover on my own grrrr.
