Hi, had my appt spent ages waiting to go in as usual. Am currently on 20mg mtx and 200mg hydroxychlorquine. Now added 500mg sulphsazaleine. Still only on tramadol and paracetemol, although the pain and swelling still the same.
He then did the tender points test for fibromyhalgia, and then asked questions and did a physical exam. He said that as I get so much pain it cant all be from the RA. He asked if i had heard of fibro, and then said thats what I have, oh joy!!
Then the pharmacy!!! tokk the script in at 12.15, was told around a 40 min wait, I translated that to an hour. Went back and found that mine still wasnt done, someone came out and said we cant dispense this. Apparently there was no date on the form and its illegal to dispense it with out. Also some of the doses etc werent clear. He told me to go back to the clinic to get it sorted. I said ok, but I dont want to have to go back to the back of the queue again. He said he would make sure I didnt have to. So back to the 4th floor, spoke to the receptionist, and luckily he was still there and he said he thought it was ok apart fromt he date, but rewrote it all anyway. By now it was 1.40, went back to pharmacy queued ages to put the form back in and explained about before. Was told ok it wont be long. Waited until 2.45!! arrived home at 3.30. all this for a ten oclock appt. What an interesting day!!!

Oh for crying out loud!! how did you manage to keep your cool?
you must have been so exhausted after that lot.
I don't know much about fibromyalgia....but that added to RA? I'm so sorry you've so much more to deal with now.
hope the new meds help and kick in really quickly.
hope too that you've recovered from the 16ths ordeal..x

Jordan all I can say is those meds had better have been worth it
I am sorry about the extra diagnosis too. It will take you some time to get your head round it I expect, but at least you know now and can get the right treatment.
Takle care
