    Hi Julie,

My mother used to cook then slowly in an oven in butter and herbs. I used to grill them in foil cus it was a bit quicker but I haven't eaten meat for a long time now so can't remember how long they took.... it was under a low grill and I used to put butter on them both side and them loosely wrap in foil and pepper and garlic......

I agree with Berty though they are very salty! Mind I might remember then as being more than they are....... xx

That's how I do them- in fact OH and eldest daughter had gammon steaks for tea tonight (with fried eggs- personally I prefer pineapple) whilst the rest of us had fajitas!

hi Julie, I do mine in the oven along with most things these days.
I wrapp mine up in foil with a drizzle of oil & cook them for a bout 40mins,they come out lovely & fall apart.
Smoked are always salter than non smoked, but i like both.
    Glad they turned out nice.

I always cook our gammon steaks in the microwave - about 5 mins for two in our oven works and they never dry out.

mind we don't get the supermarket ones.... they are often quite salty .... but the ones we get from the farmer are great done that way.
