Hi Bertyboy, try and keep busy for the next few days. Do you have anything nice planned for the weekend?

Can you not request another toilet thingy? I will be having a frame for both my upstairs and downstairs toilet (they were considered an ok height last time so I was just given a frame to go round it - with arms - a bit like a waiting room armchair!!)

Looking forward to hearing from you as you convalesce.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    Hi Bertyboy

I've just returned all my aids - I've only kept the perching stool as I still get achy when I stand for too long (maybe it's because I need the other knee done). I actually asked for two loo seats (one for upstairs and downstairs) and there was no problem. Give them a ring.

Good luck on Tuesday. I'll be thinking of you. Do let us know how you are.

    Regards and best wishes.

    Hello Berty boy,

I am going to wish you all the best for your forthcoming operation. It will be such a relief once it is over. Just relax and smile and enjoy the sunshine beforehand.

    Take care

I remember when you were first told that you would need a TKR, and how you resisted it. At the time, I think that only Elna and I had had ours, and we gave you "encouragement" in stereo.

Well, here you are, and you are about to join the club. If you don`t tell us that it was the best thing you did in three months, I`ll eat me hat!!!.......Think positive, you know it makes sense!.......Ange.

Hi, Well, at least the waiting is nearly over and I'm sure you'll be fine. Operations always make people a bit nervous, I think its only natural and for me one of the worst parts.

Hope you soon feel the benifit of the surgery and good luck!

You'll miss this year's marathon, but theirs always next year!!!

Wishing you the very best of Good Luck.

    Lots of love Sue xxx
