Does anyone ever get their original rings back on? My fingers are about 3 sizes bigger in ring size. The up-side is I have bought new ones about two years ago.:lol: But I miss my wedding bands etc. I doubt if my middle fingers will ever go down, but I'm wondering if I should give up and get my rings resized?

Sorry should have said, I'm RA with a touch of OA in one finger.

Hugs for those who need them. Ix

    HI

I gave up worrying about my odd fingers some time ago and invested in a really nice strong gold chain to keep them on. I did have to get a better (stronger and safer) fastener having had a scare when the catch caught on my clothes and I did a hansel & gretel through a supermarket car park with my 3 rings

I know it is not the same but it might be cheaper than replacing them lots of times

    Hi

I had to have my wedding ring made bigger but I had diamond cut little leaves on it but they could not do that.

I felt funny not having my wedding ring like it was. One day we will take our wedding vows again and will have my original band used to make it.

You sound as good as me Wonky. If the chain is too long I end up getting caught up in things and then trying to de tangle myself
Good idea though might be the answer. Thanks

I can only wear a ring on one finger now....acts as a good barometer when my arther is starting a flare.

I tried wearing the others on a chain but kept getting them caught on clothing so rather than lose them decided to give them and my mum's rings to my two daughters and granddaughter.

My engagement and wedding ring are a permanent fixture on my finger now. I can't get either of them off. Im very reluctant to have them cut off and whilst my fingers are more swollen, the rings are still failry comfortable so Ive made the decision to leave them be until they absolutely have to be removed.

My engagement ring was my grandmothers engagement ring from 90 years ago and I really don't want to damage it unecessarily.

When the time comes, I will probably hang them around my neck like others have done :)

This has never been an issue for me as I had RA before I got married so my wedding ring is sized to fit a swollen finger
however if a have a good period it can get a bit loose so I got an eternity ring which is smaller which goes in next to it to make it stay on. When my fingers are really really bad I have been known to wear my wedding ring on a chain round my neck.

    Hi Delboy and Dippydoodah,

Somethings in life are sooo precious and your rings certainly are. Lost my dad five years ago and I keep a couple of personal things very safe. My touch stones if you will.

Really hope you dont have to have yours removed Dippydoodah.

Iris, Yes they are a sure barometer for arfur. Hope ur a little better.

Chrissie, My new ones can become a little loose at times. Difficult to know what to do, but I think I will put my wedding ring on a chain as it would be spoilt if I had it enlarged.

Thank you all for replying. :D:D Lv, Ix

    Hi,
I've given up my engagment ring, and wear one that was an Aunts and she had bigger fingers, my wedding ring is tight and it used to be loose, I think I might have to have that done, I used to wear my MUms wedding ring, but thats too small now. I'll have my engagement ring made bigger, I'm just waiting to go to the jewellers as it costs!

    Love Sue

    Hi,

My engagement and wedding rings are very young in years (3and4) and I have already had the engagement ring resized, wedding ring was one size bigger anyhow, and have only had arthur for two years which started in my hands/fingers.

My jeweller was able to beat my engagement ring one size bigger, which i understand is standard practice if the band is thick enough to take it but that's your lot then.

My fingers too indicate how well I am doing. Generally just where mywedding band now.

I don't know what I'll do if I have to give up wearing them, I not good with necklaces, they get on me nerves.

I did'nt know that about the beating of the gold. I thought they inserted the extra into the ring back. Thanks for the info. Ix

I to have my rings on as a permanent fixture. I can just about move them on my finger, but my left hand is an inch fatter than my left hand, although they are both painful, my left is the worst. My rings are fairly tight on both hands. Don't know whether I should have them cut off or not. I couldn't afford to have them re-done. I think I shall continue to try and lose weight. That might help.

    It's very slow though
