When I first had a car, fuel was 45p per litre and my council tax was £45 per month, for a Band B. Now they still match, £1.26 per litre, £126 per month. Weird. DD

hi petrol is getting very expensive now £1.30 a litre here, I call it liquid gold.

I remember when you could get a few things for £1 now you be lucky to get a loaf of bread for that, a few years ago the council was putting new guttering on our house and they had some people that were foreigners and working here and they said it was very expensive here compared to the country they live in.

Whilst we were in Florida 'gas' was $2.72 a gallon! which is approx £1.80 a gallon. Having said that it isn't as 'good' as ours - Hubby tried to explain something to do with the octane levels (I think) but still a damn sight cheaper than ours.

Ha I only learnt to drive 6yrs ago so i was used o it being expensive from the start and my lovely little Yaris is quite thrifty really

I am lucky that the most consistently cheap garage in the region (ASDA) is right opposite my office, also it seems much cheaper round here than nationally (116.9/117.9)
