It Worked

I posted a message about twelve days ago querying whether my humira jab worked. The past thirteen days have told me it didn't so I did it last night and today has been SO MUCH BETTER. This post is just to say 'thank you' to all the people who have kept me so wonderfully entertained during those dark days, especially Tillytop, Mellman, Rehab, Wulf, P&F, Annie_mial, Frogmorton, Dorcas, Skezier, Valval, Lindalegs and Delboy. There are others too but my memory fails me - I should have made a list before posting but I'm not that organised!
Thank you all again.

DD, hope it keeps going for you and as for any support you've had, well, it's a two-way thing! I've needed a little entertaining over the last couple of weeks and you have made me laugh and made me think during that time........so thank you!

Thank you for your kind messages. I am certainly feeling better within myself but the hands and shoulders (and the rest of me) are still in pain. That has never gone away with all the anti TNFs I've had. Is it supposed to? I am thankful that my hips and spine are currently unaffected but the rest of me is horrid. Still, onwards and downwards! Well this gives me a bit of hope, I'm on enbrel which is now failing, so perhaps going onto another may do the trick.

Hi Dreamdaisy,
Humira peeps are on my Christmas card list. I love em!
I got an immediate improvement after the first humira injection and after at least 5 years of horror (since my daughter born) I felt so much better. It doesnt work for everybody but I was lucky.
My rheumatologist wanted me better so I could have a much needed THR and I had that last July. it is still working well although I do have damaged joints and more replacements on the way.
Take care

When you have replacements does it take away all the pain? My PA is inflammatory so I collect lots of ghastly fluid around the joints. My knees have been the worst affected so far but the bones are beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. They look like bones should look. I've been told that replacements are not on for me due to the lack of damage to the bones. The humira has stopped the inflammation but the pain is still bad, and now in toes, ankles, sacro-illiac joints, shoulders, neck and hands. I do feel better in myself today apart from the bloody pain. WHY HASN'T IT GONE? Oh, **** it. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
