Hi all
Just a quick question. For the last 3 blood tests I have noticed my white blood cell counts dropping. Had to come off methotrexate in jan for this reason. Am on sulfasalazine, not feeling too bad.
Thing is I noticed an exclamation mark next to 4 of the tests, but the nurse just said lets see how you go next time?
As i say, I don't feel too bad, but when i looked up the numbers in my little book I havedipped to out of the normal levels.
Anyone else have this?
Thanks

Hi Rachel
Blood tests do range quite a lot, depending on time of day, whether you had eaten before they were taken etc. Normal WBC ranges (according to my Rheumy's clinic notes,) between 4.0 - 10.0.
I am sure if there was something wrong, it would be investigated chick......
How are you getting on with Sulfasalazine......I am the opposite, I was on that first and am now on MTX. I didnt like taking SO many tablets a day! :-)
Hope that was some help to you

Hi Rachel,
I kinda agree with Abfab, if there was anything really wrong they would be investigating you....... See what the next test brings and if your worried can you ask the nurse what its about? Finger crossed it self rights and I also was like Abfab and was on sulfa and now on mtx...... after the last 24 hrs not sure if its paying with me though
Sending you shed loads of luck and hopes it sorts its self out for you. Cris x0 -
Don't fret. Bloods provide an ever-shifting set of measures, I don't take any notice of mine now apart from inflammatory markers and liver function. The exclamation mark may be your hospital/surgery's way of marking that the result is out of the normal range - my lot highlight wayward results with a red background. If they were concerned they'd be doing something with you. Let us know how it goes. (I too have PA) DreamdaisyHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
