Was bored with it all within five minutes of the announcement of the date. Will shortly be struggling off the local Baptist church to vote and will tell those waiting outside to ask me how I voted a pack of lies. 'Tis my idea of fun. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi Margaret,
Just glad its nearly over but slightly concerned bout the out come Cris x0 -
Right I have had to many blue smarties guy's so while I'm in full wibble mode I must vent my spleen again, right here goes!.
I will vote but I can't bring myself to vote main stream anymore, even Mr Clegg has had his hand in the till when he was a Euro MP,
Now this and other countries economies are in a state of political flux, the new world order is slowly showing it's face and it's ruled by the banks although they caused much of the mess we now see and face, I've totally lost faith in all MP's and our so called leaders. Even now I can't trust the so called free press as much of it is so biased towards Cameron due to the fact that Rupert Murdoch owns a lot of our press and this is obviously who he has cut a deal with to get him in, Jesus the guy doesn't even live here!.
I will also tell you this, I don't even trust the election results either, call me paranoid but there is a number on the slip they give you and coincidently they record it against you name when you pop down to vote so they know what your leanings are and if you have even bothered to vote, how do you or I know when and by who was your vote counted, do they give us access to a list informing us when and by who my vote was counted and more importantly who I even voted for so at least I can see it was correct?, I think it's all one big stitch up, now we are all being warned about hung parliaments and how terrible it will be, they are only trying to force our hands to get out and support the old Stalinist two state party system we have always had.
Now is it me or is the status quo designed to keep the same old drab order for our benefit or theirs?, I mean from Thatcher to Brown we have all as a society had to deal with massive social change, this also gave us some classic one liners like "there's no such thing as a job for life" and "get on your bike and look for work", all this was being said while the industrial landscape our parents and us had only ever know was being torn up sold off or binned, OK so the unions didn't help they played right into Thatcher's hands and were to dumb to see it even when it was upon them.
But the social cost to working class communities that had stood for generations was far to high, it was all done for short term profit, they watched and protested while the reason for their very existence was deliberate and systematically destroyed in front of them.
The industries that was the social glue was asset stripped sold off and the money squandered, when this happened the pride of more than one generation was snuffed out overnight, many areas have never recovered and crime antisocial behaviour drug taking etc is so common it's normal, as is a high illegitimate birth rate and all the other social ills that go with despondency due to serious and deliberate long term neglect.
The worst thing though is those at the helm have lied and manipulated us so they can have the cream at all costs, mostly for very short term gains, and the longer it goes on the more lying is required to cover up the last one but hey at least the cream supply hasn't quite run out yet!, soon though it wont make any difference because we like Greece are also looking into a financial abyss and just like them the truth is only going to be exposed when the money dries up and by then it's all to little to late, mind you the bankers and superrich will still do alright don't you worry.
And whoa betide us/you if anyone who does pop up and try and do some good by being honest by daring to tell us a strange thing called the truth, they will end up on the receiving end of a very dirty politically assassinated if they don't take the hint and except a lesser role by being shifted to a back room as was done with dear old Mo Mowlem, even though it was her that gave us peace in Ireland and not the dark night Voldemort aka Lord Mandelson, anyway what is it with this none elected Mr fixer, why has he got so much power and where did he come from anyway the old queens home?, but worse is afoot, if you really can't take the hint and get back in line the only other two options left are prison or the final sanction of a walk in the woods where you don't walk back from like Dr David Kelly sadly had.
Nope democracy was a nice idea sadly it's been buried so far down here it's never going to get out by any normal route, and like the Norwegian blue democracy is dead!, bereft of life it rests in peace.
Right I'm off for a cold shower.0 -
The number on your voting slip is ticked off to record the fact that you have voted. Nothing more sinister than that. They cannot tell how you voted 'cos they're not looking over your shoulder.
As for the counting, I witnessed a count a few years ago. I think it's local authority staff who do it and it was fascinating watching the shifting leads as the votes were counted. Again, it's all anonymous, you can't tell from a cross on a piece of paper who made it. Totals are checked and re-checked and the counters are watched at all times - that's why I was there.
I agree about the expenses thing: full credit to my local MP (who belongs to a party I do not like) for not claiming even the minimum of his entitlement, an honourable man. Haven't voted for him tho. The problem with human beings is that they are human beings. We don't learn from history, we always think 'it will never happen to me' (and get all indignant when it does) and I'm sure they all went into politics for similar reasons - then found to their joy and delight a system that allowed such appalling greed. We all like to think that we would have behaved differently, but would we? Who knows. That gravy train has ended and a good thing to. Can't remember anything of the rest of the rant - it was another splendid one tho, mellman. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
I like some of the things some of them say but not all of the things some of them say and def not all of the things all of them say.
There was a famous quote along these lines......
ElizabethNever be bullied into silence.
Never allow yourself to be made a victim.
Accept no ones definition of your life
Define yourself........

I don't trust em DD, I think they are all aliens like dear old David Icke say's, nope I'm unpluging me kettle and all other appliances for the time being, also got some really tough heavy duty tin foil to make us all hats (Ozzy and Murhpy included) so they don't read or boil our brains with microwaves!, oh no I'm ready for them this time I can tell you!.
That reminds me I must get all me old fillings taken out and plastic ones put in!.0 -
not long now and we will know the result. i think conservative are going to win although would be nice to see something completely different....haa haa...and now for something completely different, anyone remember that? .0
