    Hi, Sorry your suffering.
I have to prop myself up in bed with pillows & perhaps a pillow under or between your legs may help.
Alot of us on here take Amptripyline to help us sleep. i think we all have shares in it  the amount we must go through. So it might be worth going to GP & ask for it to help you sleep. I know its not an answer to tonights problem.
Also if you can take maximum painkillers about an hour before bed & if you can paracetomol as a top up. Check your meds dont contain paracetomol first though. Ibuprofen is anti-inflamatory & pain killer too but again check you can take them.

Hot bath, read, hot milky drink & meds is all i can think of.
I hope you find some sleep soon, as we need sleep to help us heal from the day.

I do sympathise, I'd say on top of that great advice - try wheatie bags/heated cushions and a relaxation CD/mediation/music to take your mind of it. And if all else fails and your meds allow - alcohol!!

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Hi, I hope i helped & yes the achohol is not good advice but it does speed up the effect of the meds & hey who cares after a glass or 2.:lol: Ssshhh i didnt say that.HIC :lol:
just be carefull if you do go on the fridge raid
Yes diffo ask about the amptripylines. Dont suffer in silence & theres alot strong meds they can try you on, just be like a lot of us have had to be... A bloomy nuisance at the DRS til they start listening. I read somewhere that it take 4 trips to the GPs to even get a referal  well it took me more than that.

Hope you got to sleep in the end Jane???

Nothing worse than lack of sleep.

If all else fails you can join the insomniacs in the cafe or night owls threads on chit chat.....they can be up till the small hours get quite BIG

    Love

    Toni xx

I plug myself into my MP3. I have 2, a purple and a pink. The purple is for music, the pink for audio books. The purple usually suffices but if I think it's going to be really rough I use the pink. Both have noise-reduction headphones which stop sound leakage so I don't disturb The Husband - until I start 'dancing'! DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben
