I was told by my rheumatologist 2 years ago that psoriatic arthritis does not evolve/migrate to any other type of arthritis once you have it - is this true?, it seems unrealistic after reading many profiles and seeing that some people have this and other types and seeing as i now have gout too.

i must have misunderstood him, surely

cheers, chris

I could be wrong but it seems unlikely as osteo is wear and tear, PA is auto-immune. I'm not sure about rheumatoid, anyway, if one always looks on the darker side of life at least you're never surprised by what does happen! DD

Hi, I don't really know, but as osteo is wear and tear, I suppose as you get older, you might find you get it, not because of the PA, but because of wear and tear! Just a thought. I'd see the doc and talk to him.
