hello everyone
i hope you all had a better day weather wise, sun shinning here today total opposite to yesterday,
i am feeling really proud of my son, (( )) for him, i took him to the doctors today for his booster jab that he had missed out because of the tooth problems he has had, but now that's sorted too and i also proud of him for how he coped on Monday as well as today, i cant tell you how proud i am of him, this week has proved a few things to me, and that is its down to me worrying if he would be OK, still over with now and looking forward to the next 2 days being more quieter.

Ah 49
That is so nice to hear, give him and yourself a pat on the back.

Hi Sylvia,
He has done well and he will have gained valued experience from what he has been through.
I am told I fuss too much about my oldest son. He has coped really well, much more than I expected.

I think tchakev has made a good point. As the parent of an autistic child it must be so difficult to let got the role of parent and protector: you are all-too well aware of the problems and dangers that these children face, and knowing that they find interaction with others so hard you must be constantly walking a tightrope of fret and worry BUT - sometimes they surprise you. They can cope, they can manage and surely that is a reward for your careful and painstaking parenting. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

i just think i a good perent and want the best for my son, if ONLY more perents were like this then there would not be half as much trouble with these yobs, do know what gets me is the ignorance or ones in life that like to critisice and think they know it all even better than the perents
i have always belived you should always try and see 2 sides but i guess there is people out there like this.
one thing i always find is the people on this forum do care and are all one in a million and i would really miss it if this forum was not here.sylvia0 -

Spot on DD. I was forced to let go a little(oldest son but also on spectrum but not as severe as 2nd son).I wanted him taken to new school when he went up to seniors. But for my THR I would have done it myself if I had to. but he has coped with the bus everyday and is now fine.He managed to got lost 3 times(when he decided to try walking or a train) but I think he has learnt that it is best to stick to a familiar route.
I wouldnt have done this through choice.

I don't know how to phrase this but I reckon you've all got a 'feel' for me now and this isn't meant to be insulting or patronising in any way.
You, as the parent, are facing difficulties every day that the rest of us cannot even begin to understand. You are in the middle of it and, perhaps cannot see the wood for the trees. It takes something like your TKR to take you out of that wood, and suddenly you gain a whole new view of your child. These children can sometimes achieve more than you think, and it's a blessing when they do because it shows promise, hope and, above all, the result of good parenting.
I shall now run away and hide 'til I think it's safe to come out. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -

I did mean it kindly! It must be so difficult to see a full view of what is happening and how things change. Running off now to wrestle with the wheely bin. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
