Hi,
hope your all okish today and the sun is shining somewhere in the UK?

I am out my depth with a pc........not too hard for me to be that but.....

borrowed a laptop for drip week (i wouldn't lend me one come to that.....) its very new, has to be Vista cus i don't recognise it and mines EX service 3...... I got some idea of how it all works but....

its come with a vodafone modem which actually has a stabler reception that my 3, it is a pay as you go and 3 is already loaded cus i got mine from this poor friend.....Thing is I would rather use mine cus then its my credit.....

it connects ok but it won't bring any pages up all are unable to be found... the server can't be found and well3 have really up graded since this program was put on and its not 3 connect anymore it's something else.....

Does anyone know how I can make it work cus well its fairer to use my own and also reception in hospital might be iffy and one may connect better than the other......

Hope some of this makes sense and this might just be better left in the spare room till its returned cus its a really good one and not what I was expecting at all.......

You all take care Cris x

Hah back on my big tower.... But.... think I sussed it and now have them both working so..... well its made my day at least :lol::lol: x

    Hi Cris,

Can't help but I'm hoping there's someone else who can. The blokes on here are often more knowledgeable about these techno things than we girls ....fingers crossed they'll be able to help you.

Good luck for the eyes a040.gif ...is it tomorrow?

    Hi Legs,

It is tomorrow  They are doing visual field tests, examining them and seeing a consultant (if I am lucky) and I really hope I will at least find out why this keeps happening and also ca it be helped beyond the mtx (they have already told me that's better than steroid)

Worse thing legs they can undo the damage..... Still if I knew who it might help and you never know maybe they will actually treat them with something?!

Luv and a sheep hide

Cris who must get into gear and doesn't want the drip :? xx

Not surprised you don't want the drip ...suppose you have no mid-line yet  your life would be so much easier if they'd at least do that one thing for you :|

I'll be thinking about you tomorrow.

    Take care.

    Cris

I will be with you. I know how you feel my friend, I know the digging for veins that are long gone also the ones that pop when the needle goes in.

Perhaps they will use the Butterfly Cris, and with fingers crossed you might be alright.

The insults, well you can rise above that Cris. Just think about all the animals you have given a life too, otherwise they would not be here.

Think of Primrose too.Sending a (((((())))) to you.

    EX service 3
    Erm.... XP SP3 I presume. a015.gif

I don't use either Vista/disaster or mobile broadband so I can't really help as such.

However, as a guess it could be a driver problem.

Firstly, unplug all the dongles and then restart the laptop properly by using the info. below.

Click the Start button located in the lower-left corner of the Windows Vista desktop. Then click the arrow in the lower-right corner of the Start menu. Then click on Restart.

Plug in your dongle after it has fully restarted. It should then recognise the dongle as new hardware and ask for drivers. Click OK and Vista should then look for and install the drivers, leave the dongle plugged in and restart the laptop again and then it will hopefully work.

If it doesn't then you need to check that Internet Explorer is the default browser, (3 insist on that), after that it gets complicated.

If the above doesn't make it work, try googling '3 Connect not connecting properly', without the quotes.

How do you know all this stuff livinglegend? My heart of hearts tell me that it isn't really that complicated but one does feel in awe of the 'mechanics' of a computer. (I know mechanics is the wrong word but I couldn't find a better one!) They seem to be such delicate and temperamental beasts - much like the humans who press its buttons. I like the acronym PICNIC, used by tech support people. Problem In Chair Not In Computer. DD

I've been around computers and computing for a long time and just as some people have specialist knowledge, I know a lot about computers.

Have you tried setting the Modem search setting for connection from auto to manual, ours went Pete Tong ages ago and it's the only way it detects the wifi router now, god knows why it does but it works so I ain't messing with the flippin fing.
