well, i have just come back from a spell in hospital because my hip replacement dislocated.........and it HURRRRRRRRRRT real bad.

to be honest, i didn't think i could scream like that !! any other time and i would have felt quite proud of the sheer volumn that i reached !!

on the serious side i am really wanting to warn all post hip op peeps that even after 3 months dont take it for granted that it wont pop out, i'm not trying to scare ANYONE...honest, i am just saying at all times take it easy, because the pain i had i never EVER want to experience again in my life.

see ya'all, love Sally.xx

hi Hileena... please dont worry, it was my fault. i saw a bit of glass under my washing machine....i had smashed one getting out of the dishwasher a few weeks back, and as i have a kiddies i thought i had better get it, so i bent down, wiggled the glass, it wouldnt budge so i put my head on the kitchen floor to see what was jamming it and then i felt 2 clunks, ratchet style, and with each cluck i went down, and the most horrid pain, almost beyond pain hit me and boy, did i scream!!
BUT, like i said, i'm only warning others not to be flippant about how well and flexable you are feeling, always keep in the back of your mind we have had major surgery, and DONT bend down too far to pick things up..xx

I'm so sorry this happened to you! hug

I've never popped mine out but I've had a couple of scares when, even years after surgery, I wasn't paying attention and felt it start to come out. It has always slipped right back in place as soon as I've righted myself, but it's really frightening and puts me right back on the straight-and-narrow!

Glad you're home and hope you're feeling better soon!

thank you all for your lovely hugs and comforts...they really do mean so much.xx :D
ironic..yes  i am back to square one, i was told, when i was discharged from hospital that i was to treat my hip as if i had just had it replaced, i was really gutted when they said that because i had been doing so well, i even managed to go round the house with no aides. also it means i cant drive for 6 weeks either. the only thing different really is the fact that i am allowed to shower as long as i get help in and out, which i wasnt allowed to do after THR until the staples were out....as i am sure you all know !!
oh yes, and i had just got to the top of the list for physio too !!! so that means another 12 week wait on that...knickers !!!
well, on with the hobble walk...
love and hugs to you all.xxxxxxxxxx

Ohhhh Sally,!! how awful for you!! like you say, its hard to believe it can happen when all is going so well. Take it really easy now, shame about the physio too, that can take so long to organise x x
