Hi Is it just me or is everyone tired all of the time?

I think my hubby & kids are a bit fed up of seeing me fall asleep at anytime of the day(its a good job my kids are 20 & 16).I have told my doctor about this & he just seems to look at me as if to say ...and you want me to do what

I think I need to get this sorted or im never going to feel any better,is this arthur or something else I ask myself.I just cant seem to lift my mood either. Now im worrying with my rheumy nurse telling me to stop taking hdroxy.due to my rash what will they do for me next?

Any ideas anyone ???

    Hi tjc

Arthritis does make one tired but so also does one's mood. That applies to me, anyway. If I do not feel motivated then tiredness seems to feature much more in my day, but if I am, for example going to visit my grand daughter, meet a friend, have an appointment somewhere or other, I definitely do more and the tiredness is not there anywhere near as much, if at all. I hope this makes some sense to you, but that is how tireness can play a part in my day to day life.

    Luv
    Elna x

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

    Hi tjc
I have OA, and I get quite tired, I am not sure if its the pain, or the struggling to do things
Like Elna says if you have something special to do that day, the tiredness doesn't seem has bad, mind over mater i suppose.
I do hope things improve for you very soon, you know were we are when you need us.
    Take care

    Hi TJC

It's possibly teh srthritis and maybe the hydroxy isnt quite doing the job?? When I had my first falre I couldnt keep my eyes open either

Need to have a proper chat with rheumy nurse about alternatives if she wants you off it.

Set the alarm for a power nap (Elna's advice to me  ) in the day.

    Love

I blame the arthritis, pure and simple. It saps your energy when you flare, and the drugs one is given to 'treat' it also have a negative effect. I haven't felt 'lively' since 2003. Everything hurts, all the time. It's wearing. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

I had a full blood count yesterday so hopefully I will hear something in a few days. The funny thing is I still have my rash even though Im taking antihistimines...Im just a little confused with it all.

I think it takes sometime to get meds out of your system.
I'm on Hydro and I also fell asleep after tea everynight.

I work four days a week so it certainly takes it out of you. When the meds kicked in for me I found I was not as tired. :D

I'm sure they will try different meds soon.

    Hang on in there.

Hi tjc. Arthur, in its many guises, does make you tired, or fatigued, that, along with the drugs, often lowered mood due to pretty much constant pain, treated with yet more drugs, it is a vicious circle and it takes a lot of coping with at times. My OH knows, because I am usually very quiet on the bad days, even talking is exhausting.
Some days I can potter along, go out, shopping etc. Some days, like today, is one of those wet rag days when fatigue hits you like a wall and you just have to rest up. I force myself to potter about, otherwise I would be asleep in the chair if I sat for more than 10 minutes. Tomorrow is another day and will be different again. Take care, it isn't easy, as you well know. XX Bubbles

    Hi,
Yes its the arthur....I'm sure of it. Like the others say when you have someting to do or somewhere to go you are a lot less tired. Its when you sit down it hits you.
Do you have to /want to work as many hours as you do? {sorry I dont know how many you work} If you do give up some work dont just sit around, find something nice to do otherwise you will fall asleep LOL
What about nights....are you sleeping OK then?

    Hi tjc,

I have not been a regular visitor on the forum for a bit and have read your post but not the replies - so I'm sorry if am repeating what others have said ...

Yes it is the arther!! The pain makes you tired. The mobility issues make daily living tasks more effort-ful (is there such a word?!) to carry out, most of us struggle to get adequate and quality sleep and the meds make you tired.

So yes - it is the arther.

Getting adequate rest will help to a degree.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.
