Feeling horrendously ugh and weird and yuck. Is this normal after a dose increase? Feel really week and odd and dizzy.

you don't say how it has been increased from ..... sometimes they go up in 5mg increments and sometimes only 2.5mg .
Personally I can usually tolerate a dose increase of 2.5mg better than I can an increase of 5mg, even with mine being injections.
I have usually been advised to see if it gets better after a few weeks ...... but if you are at all unsure it is a good idea to ring either your rheumy nurse (if you have a helpline number for them) OR YOUR gp. thEY MAY WANT TO INCREASE (sorry his caps lock  ) your FOlic acid or add in something else to help you out.
don't suffer in silence .... they may be able to help.

Hi Lucia,
I am sorry your feeling so bad. I am lucky with the mtx so far (though mine went up again today) but got bad side effects from the sulfa so kinda know what you mean. Can you get anything from your gp to help counta act the side effects? Sending you a ((( ))) and a hope tomorrow will be better. Cris x0 -
Hi
I felt spaced out and sick (and was sick) when i first started metho, so from my point of veiw i would say it sound about right
for me it used to last about 24hrs after taking the tabs.
Hope you feel better soon
if not give rheumy nurse a call in morning just to make sure
take care0 -
Thank you all so much. I feel reassured. It was 10mg and now 15mg in tablets as I'm too much of a wimp to do injections!
My husband has got home now and I've flaked out in bed so hopefully sleep might help. I hope everyone has had a lovely day. Thank you

For those who have side effects that sounds about right. Give it a couple of more weeks to see if you acclimatise, if not, go back to the doc and ask for anti-emetics. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Give it some time - many side effects fade as you get used to the medication. hug0

Hi Lucia
Sorry you are feeling the nasties with MTX. Rheumy increased mine this week from 15mg to 17.5mg for 4 weeks then he wants me to increase again to 20mg. My body was just getting used to taking the 15mg and when I took the increased dose yesterday it made me feel sick and tired again. Hang in there with me. If it works I am told it will be worth it. ((())) to you.
Cheers

Hi Lucia,
I'm now into my 4th week on MTX and I have to admit, for the past few days i have felt sick and dizzy - I keep being told it will be worth it in the end - I'm not convinced tho :?
Anyway what I really wanted to say is that youre not alone with this, and if I can help and support you, I will. Take Care,
Love & ((()))'s Sandra xxx0 -
Thanks everyone. I am feeling a bit more perkier today but still very tired. The nurse tried to do my bloods but both veins collapsed and she said it could be because I wasn't feeling very well. So I've got to go back again on Tuesday to try again. I think I can take folic acid tonight so hopefully that will help.
I hope everyone is ok.

Sorry to hear you're struggling with it. Hopefully, it will pass. I usually feel a bit rubbish after taking my weekly dose. x0
