Hello,
I'm sorry I've been away for a while, but what with one thing and another, including a bit of a throat infection, I've not been at my best! Much better now, though.
I was supposed to go to the Pain Clinic on Tuesday for the second part of the course, but felt too unwell to go and also I don't think its fair on the others to go to something like that when you are feeling like death. I caught it from my husband, so I know its infectous!! Luckily, they understood and have fitted me into next weeks seminar on Tuesday, so not long to wait now.
Today I've got a pain in the middle of my back and its driving me mad! I did some much needed polishing yesterday and I think it started me off.
Love Sue

Hi Sue,
glad you have managed to fight off the infection ... tell your hubby to keep his germs to himself!!! (joke!)
It's good the pain clinic are fitting you in on Tues, you were quite right not to go - not spreading the germs to others already in pain was very responsible and also you would hardly have been in a fit state to benefit fully from the seminar.
The polishing and pain in the back thing is just so typical of arther. Have an easier day again today and then hopefully you will be ok again for the weekend.
SpeedalongI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
Hi Speedalong,
Yes, I will have a rest today. I'm glad that I've done the polishing etc although their is still the bedroom to be done.... But that will have to wait for another day!!!

Hi Sue
Glad to see your back. Can you get your OH to give you a back massage? Relax and rest until your back feels a bit better. My FIL had a throat infection and ended up with a cough. Mind you he can't cope with being unwell and loves all the fuss!!! I stayed as far away from him as possible ...he did look very peaky for about 4 days. Glad you're over it.
Enjoy your weekend!

Hi Sue,
Good to see you back and hope your feeling a lot better now.
With Legs get your hubby to do the polishing as a reward for your bugs Luv Cris x0 -
Thank you, yes, I am feeling a lot better now. I've got my husband home for half-term, so it'll be nice to have some company and maybe get out for a few trips. We can reach the coast in just about 3/4 hour on a good day. I have the hand clinic on Tuesday morning at 9.00 and then on to the pain seminar at 11.00 so it will be a busy day! I think the Pain Clinic is relaxation and visualisation this time, so that sounds interesting. Love Sue0

Hi Sue,
Relaxation and visualization to me is the best stuff there is for pain and fear etc. I really hope the hand clinic goes well and are all your tests back now? Any news on the appointment? See been keeping an eye out for you. Luv Cris xx0 -
I have had a letter from the hospital saying that they could find no inflammitory arthritis on the ultrasound I had on my hands, but they found some oa. I see the rheumatologist in August, she was talking about 'some injections into the joints that are painful' if the ultrasound was OK, but I'll have to see what the hand clinic want to do. They talked about surgery on the nerves trapped higher up, at both elbows and neck. The neurologist told me that neck surgery should be avoided if at all possible as it can go wrong. Which I knew :? My neck is getting more painful these days and driving is very hard, but I don't want surgery if at all possible.
I feel I've seen so many different specialists and been advised different things, it gets confusing. I'm lucky to have good GP's who talk it over with me and help me to decide the options. I don't know, I'm on first name terms with my GP, I must go too often its getting embarressing!!! Sorry I'm whaffling on again.
Lots of love Sue0 -
