There was a thread somewhere concerning the rough patch that the lovely dorcas is experiencing but I can't find it - having a blonde moment, my apologies.

I sincerely hope, dorcas, that you are feeling a little better/brighter today and that the wrists are easing up on you. It's just over a week until your op - and I know that must seem like aeons away - but it will come. Take care. DD

Hello my lovely, lovely friends. x

thank you DD for this thread.... and to everyone thanks so much for your very kind messages and support...they have really given me a lift! :D

went off to the Western Isles last week to recharge my batteries .... now am having to face up to the op!

I'm going to hospital this morn for some further preps for my op next week and also seeing the rheummy bods when I'm there.

....can hardly believe it's only a few days (7th) until I have the wrist replaced.

a bit of the old nerves kicking in now but at the same time am excited and will be so glad to have the op over and done with and hopefully have a working wrist by the end of it all.

been a bit of a struggle recently with both hands and my neck...and I'm finding it difficult walking too :? rotten arther!

lots of love from me to all of you and the forum team.....hope the sun is shining wherever you are today and arther behaving himself!

    How's it going Dorcas??

    Hello CC peeps,

4 days to go and counting! thanks DD for keeping note of the day :D

Toni, I certainly could do with a good packer....I haven't even started yet !!!
I have still to buy loose tops and trousers with elasticated waistbands ; how chic...I think not, but very practical as I won't be able to do zips or buttons. I've started practising showering and getting dressed & doing my hair (now very short) with my one rather weak fused hand....I have to say I am rubbish at it and end up looking like wurzel gummidge.

Arther is fiercely rampaging through my knees, neck and feet; that on top of the wrists is making me feel really old and decrepit

Rheummy can't give me steroid inj IM just now (I asked) as it would interfere with the healing process and I can't start on the next anti tnf infliximab until they are sure the wound has healed. As I'll be in plaster/ splint for 10weeks post op I don't know how/ when they'll judge that.

anyhow not long to go before having my new wrist....

thanks for kind thoughts and support everyone.

Regarding the packing - why not just live in a nightie, a huge one you (or someone else) can tug up from your feet? No buttons or zips to contend with, simples! Seriously dorcas, you are sounding very organised and on top of it all. I wouldn't worry about the Worzel Gummidge hair, it's a look that suits everyone, explain it's 'windswept and tousled'.

Three days left (not including today) and counting . . . . DD

Very best of luck for your forthcoming operation Dorcas. You seem very nervous but I am sure once it is over your new wrist will be worth it.

    My best wishes
