Hi, looked them up in the BNF - naxo (whatever it is) can cause ulcers, Neither are listed for causing dryness down-below ,,, unless there is a medical name for this condition that I did not recognise. However BNF might only list most common side effects?? Have you checked out every inch of the meds leaflet? COuld always ring a pharmacist.

Sorry can't be of more help.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Nether-region dryness could just be your age. It is one of the side effects of losing oestrogen - get some lubricant over the counter or pessaries from the doc. That might help. DD

 yes I have had these problems  but not with naproxen it was with diclofenac but it is still a nsaid so it could be related.
The rheumy doc said that the treatments could have altered my 'internal flora' which caused the changes. I have had the same problem with some of the biologics too (I dont take diclofenac anymore as it causes my stomach to swell up now)

MIne did settle down after being on the drugs a while.

    good luck xx

    Morning Val,

I took naproxen for a while and had to stop because it made me very uncomfortable down under, in fact I couldn't stop scratching and felt a bit stingy when passing water. Not dry as such but not nice.

Hi Val, I've got similar symptoms and my Rheumy said in January that she thought I might have Sjogrens.........I didn't quite make a full symptoms match then, but that's five months ago and those signs are definitely worsening.

See my new GP tomorrow for the first time.........going to see if I can follow this through with 'whoever'. I will need a Rheumatologist appointment as I am on methotrexate - that will all be fun, not!
