Hi
I have been told that u can get a reclinder chair from Ur OT? Mine is coming out todat=y and now i have OA in my wrists am finding very hard to get up from chairs !!

Would i be cheeky if i asked her if she can get me one? or should i use my DLA to buy one?
Really dont know how this works.

Im finding each day more of a struggle and am in bed at 6pm because i cant get comfy downstairThks for letting me ask so many questions

    Hi Alli,

There's no harm in asking for one and see what she says. She'll tell you if you can't have one or she might suggest where you can buy them from.

Those who don't ask, don't get.

I was told by my OT that there are warehouses full of stuff so more people should see what can be supplied to them.

Good luck, hope you get one.

I agree with lindalegs, if you don't ask you won't get. The worst they can say is no, so try. Frogmorton is right too, bedtime for grown-ups isn't 6pm, I prefer 5pm! Take care (and wishing you luck with the request) Dreamdaisy

    Hi Rosyred

Yes, I would certainly ask for one. I am sure they will understand the problems you have getting up from a seated position.

That's what they get paid for ... so I say keep them busy!!!

No harm in asking Alli, the worst they can say is no. Ask for all the little things you want first and then when they are all agreed ask about the recliner. I bought one for after my op - NOT cheap - but a godsend. If OT says no - then fall back on your DLA - wont be cheap though.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.
