Hi all
Just heard a saying I really liked - and thought I'd share it with you:
"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, but about learning to dance in the rain."
Now I know that many (most?) of us probably can't dance (and I couldn't dance even before RA) but I think this is a lovely saying and I'm going to print it out and pin it up somewhere I can see it.

This morning I was sorting through some photo`s, and found one that ties in with that lovely saying.
I`ve told you before how Frank and I adored our garden, and practically lived in it. This photo is one he took of me, on my sun lounger. The heavens had opened unexpectedly, and I grabbed me umbrella, and refused to move. Frank has written on the back,
"Brown girl in the rain", and I can see him now, dancing round the garden, singing that to me, and us both laughing til the sun came out again.
Thank you for bringing back that memory for me Tilly........Ange.0 -
what a lovely quote. And i am so glad you have such special memories Ange. Tainted with sadness I am sure but there is lots of love and laughter left behind. You enjoy that special garden as its glorious weather today and even when it rains you can still wonder at its beauty.
ElizabethNever be bullied into silence.
Never allow yourself to be made a victim.
Accept no ones definition of your life
Define yourself........

Hi Tilly
That's a good quote to remember. Sometimes it is easy to get bogged down in the negative aspects of life, but I think quotes like this can remind us to try to stay positive.
Ange, I found your memory of Frank very moving, and I have tears in my eyes as I type. I'm sure that happy memories like this must help to bring you comfort, but here's a hug of support too. (((((((( )))))))))0 -
Thank you Elizabeth, and Joan. I really appreciate your loving thoughts.......Much love........Ange.0

Hello Ange - what a coincidence - this sounds like a lovely photo - and as you say very fitting for the saying. What a wonderful memory. Love Tilly x0 -
Hello all,
Glad you liked the saying. I like Delboy's quote too. Maybe we ought to keep this thread going because I am sure there are loads of good sayings out there.
How about "Things are getting worse. Please send chocolate." Not an inspirational quote but, I think, a good and apt one nevertheless.

Hi Tilly
I started a thread, 'Thought for today' for this purpose a litttle while ago, so I will find it and bring it back to the top.

Hi Joan - brill, I'll look out for it. Sorry I didn't see it before, else I'd have added my saying to your original thread.

Hi Tilly
It had disappeared, so you probably wouldn't have seen it. Now back to the top.0 -
Thanks Joan - can see it now.
