Hi Peeps

Just thought would tell you all that in our paper today (Express) on page 63 there is an ad for people with oesteoarthritis in knees. They are looking for people from age 40-80 to take part in 3 day trials within the next 3 months. They say they will cover costs.....My mum tried it as a ploy to get rid of moi but it failed ha!!! As

A - I got oesteochondritis dissecans (think its different to oesteoarthritis).....
B- Im needle phobic ultra bad, think got veins of concrete!!!
C- I dont fancy going dawn saff!!!!!

But if anyone reckons this may or may not be worth a phone call its an 0800 number.......

Cheers

Elaine

    Hi Elaine,

S is needle phobic-proper (I don't like them either - but not to the same extreme) he has to have "magic cream" (emla cream) before having bloods/jabs and it works a treat. Used to have to get it on prescription - now evidently can buy it over the counter ... It really works - can't feel any pain at all.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    Oh Speedalong

I had that Emla cream and still they couldnt get blood from me I had a nasty reaction to it as I suffer from numerous allergies, idiopathic urticaria and angioeodema.........Which basically equates as an auto immune disease.......
I think the blood just doesnt want to exit my system and i feel so bad when people like anaesthetists, practice nurses, registrars etc all try in vain and end up scratching their heads in frustration at my vein ability to collapse upon the words "i need to take some blood"....

    Im unique!!!
