Hi everyone
You may remember that I asked about footwear and many of you recommended Fly Flots or MBTs. I bought a pair of MBTs which have been great but I have found another pair of trainers (I wanted a white pair for the summer months). The pair I bought generally retail at £74.99 but they're selling them online for £15.00 in a sale.
They come with 2 extra insoles which is incredible I've put a pair of the insoles in my Ecco shoes for extra padding. The trainers are made in Switzerland and are called "Springboost". I found mine by going on ebay.
I thought I would share this with you because these are well padded and comfy.

oohh Sharmaine, I love bargains!!
You are a sucker for new footwear aren't you?!
I love comfy, springy, padded footwear too.
I was really disappointed that my leg length discrepancy got worse ... in theory it should have gone away again with this op - it complicates wearing footwear with padded support on the left foot as the heel raise cannot always lay flat ... If I take the insole out of the left then that foot feels hard done by walking in an unpadded shoe ... I'm still waiting for the hospital to despatch the bigger heel raise ... once it comes I'll have to start experimenting - maybe I could put the heel raise under the padding ...

PS are you still riding the exercise bike??I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
Thanks Sharmaine - that's really helpful .. I have a wardrobe full of shoes I can't wear - and just one pair that I wear all the time - but have even had to cut the sides on these recently to accommodate my current swollen feet - so I am on the look out for shoe-bargains!

I just keep longing for a pair of really high heels. I know I couldn't walk in them but I just keep seeing them in all the magazines and papers. Ohhhhhhh.

Hey Speedalong
Yes, I'm still on the exercise bike. Apparently it's the best thing for strengthening my weakened ham string muscles. I try and go on it most days. However, if I have a flare up then I just have to lie down. It doesn't help when you have OA in other places.
I do love comfy shoes - I have lots that I can't wear anymore (not since I've had OA in both knees). I think I'll try and sell some of them on ebay. They're just too nice to throw out. My son has inherited my love of shoes. We could sit and talk about shoes for hours. This time round mine tend to be more comfortable than fashionable. I bought a pair of sketchers sandals too and these are great. I'm set for the summer months and early autumn! I'll have to shop around for winter stuff in August! My DIL
has the most outrageously high heels she's so lucky she can wear them .....sometimes I wish I was young again!!!!
How are you doing?

Hi Marion
These fit me just fine and as they are lace ups I can adjust the laces on them so they're not too tight. I just cannot wear flat shoes or high heels anymore. They have to be very well padded. The MBTs are good and they tend to be on the wide side too. If you buy make sure you try some on in the shop first.
I had a TKR on my right knee in February and my ankle has a tendency to swell if I do too much.
MBTs are very expensive and these are a good alternative.

Hi Airwave
I dug out the label from the dining room and they have a website:
www.springboost.com. I think some of the sports shop stock them too. The design is called "Dorsi Technology" but the trainer itself is called "Springboost". I hope I don't get in trouble for mentioning company names.

Hi Babycham
Are your Reeb..s ok?
Sorry you couldn't find any in your size. I take a 6.5 size shoe and it's always difficult to find shoes so when I see a spot a bargain I go for it.

Since I have a cupboard full of killer heels that are oh so pretty ...but completely unwearable now I have taken to hush puppie thong sandals they have raised arches and are very comfy and my trusty sketchers both shoe type and trainers they are wonderful under foot. I did buy a pair of sketchers tone ups but they made my knees hurt so much I ended up giving them to my sis in law.

I've followed all the leads and links, most of the shoes mentioned are a touch too much for my pension, back to my rags and hand me downs
Shoes are a very personal thing, must be why you girls cherish your soles so much. Thanks for the links.
A nice watch, a powerful drill, a sports car but HIGH HEELS?????? Yuk...

Hi Theresa
I will have to look at hush puppies when I'm next shopping.
I have a pair of Sketchers sandals and they are lovely I can wear them all day without any problems.
