techy query about DVD player & old style TV

Just wondered if any of you more technically minded than me (not difficult ) know if there is a way to connect a DVD player to a TV which does not have a scart socket?
I have a TV in my bedroom but it does not have a scart connection. I would love to be able to watch a film on the days when I can't get comfortable anywhere but propped up with pillows on the bed.
Any chance I might be able to connect on? Don't want to buy anything expensive - just a simple thing to play them.
thanks a lot

Hi Wonky
I think you should be able to connect with a lead, it usually has three connection red yellow and white, on both ends.
Check you tv and dvd player to see if it has these coloured connections, if that makes scene.

just checked all round the tv and the bad news is it doesn't even have the red, yellow and white connections just a point for the aerial :? :? :? :?
I think I may be unlucky shame cos it is a good TV and has a timer to turn TV on and off so is handy if I want to fall asleep watching and not have it on all night.
thanks for trying folks

yes if your tv got a red round conectionand the same in yellow and white, and your dvd player has then you should be able to no problem, i done that in the past as for some reason some tv's only have one scart or in your case none, or you can get a lead from a tv shop that has a scart one end and clour plugs at the other end.

I will have a look in town tomorrow after the hospital visit. I know a good shop that will help me without making me feel a bit daft as some tend to do

I would suggest the same. Scart in and RF out, you just need the leads as well. Connect, tune in and watch.

well quick update to say that thanks to all your advice I bought a DVD player and an RF Modulator and when I got it all set up it would only play half our DVDs. :x :x :x :x :x :x :x
Trisher & Elizabeth & everyone else who gave me advice about the DVD player ..... Thank you so much!!!
Special mention must go to Livinglegend (Joseph) for helping to reassure me that I wasn't going mad, and helping to make me sound like I knew what I was talking about in the shop
I have been back to the shop and because of all your advice, I have come away with a brand new replacement and IT WORKS
so heartfelt thanks

first put it in standby mode with red light on front of it.
all you do is switch it off at the plug, take the card out and then wipe it with a soft cloth and put it back in and then put plug in and switch it on and it should still be in standby mode i think, take it out of standby mode so there a green light on the front, it should be on channel 999 then just put on what ever channel you want and thats it done.sylvia0 -
