Why, in whoever's name, why? Why has one of the most musical and dance-oriented nations of the world produced these horrendous, one-note-wailing-siren-of-doom-I-will-make-your-ears-bleed instruments of torture? They sound at 100 decibels plus, a monotonous wall of sound. 'Tis too much to bear. I wanted to watch France and Uruguay (sp? Allez les bleus!) but have given up. DD

We are about to turn it over, it is like having a swarm of bees in your front room, cannot bear it any longer, OH keeps saying "what a row" and I keep going out the room.
Right, let's see what else is on.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -

Have a go at blowing one! They are awful! I hope they dont blow them at the Engand games, it will put the players off!
I like the crowds chanting and singing not blowing stupid plastic pipes!0 -

Chanting and such like is ok, but not that dreadful buzzing, set all my nerves jangling. Will have to be on mute tomorrow.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
I'm afraid that football leaves me cold at the best of times, but that noise is horrendous  I've escaped to bed, and I'm having a lovely peaceful time with just my cat for company. However, he is snoring as I type, so it's not entirely quiet.

Joan, it leaves me not only cold but wondering 'why'! Luckily hubby is of the same opinion, so I don't get it forced on me.
It's a wonderful time to use the shopping channels!

They are awful, but since you put this on, I've got an uncontrollable urge to keep blowing it0 -

I have been suffering too. I know I shall not be watching any football, or if I do I shall have the sound down. save listening to the stupid comments the commentators say.
thank goodness I shall be away for most of it.
I daren't even think about the match tonight. I just hope we find some magic from somewhere. It's obvious they are going to try and rile Rooney - just hope he can stay focused. Bet the referee won't be listening to that, just waiting to hear the dreaded swear word. Oh Help!!!!!!
But please oh please no more horns. Bring back the chanting
