youngest sons birthday tomorrow just as he was going out the door said will back tomorrow for presents and have you made my cake . you got it i forgot to make one will get up in min and do one how did i forget it never crossed my mind oops :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: :oops: have we got large choc cake in cafe any where?????????????????

We were late for our sons birthday too and had to get a large choccy cake from Waitrose which son enjoyed very much. Was less than a fiver!

in oven lol good job house always stocked up with things to cook cake lol even if do not get around to it often . always have cooked a milk choclate cake for there birthdays with milk chocolate icing it not good idea to start these traditions as then you have to remember them lol . valval0

Why is it that boys just love to have chocolate cakes. My son loves them

I try not to bake too often for this very reason! I've always let my girls choose their own birthday cakes from Asda. Aren't I a good mum

I used to make mine their birthday cakes, it was always half and half - half sponge, half fruit cake.
They were allowed to choose what colour icing they wanted and I had to improvise many times.......purple, mauve, black. There wasn't the range of colours available then. I gave up when the eldest one wanted white with red polka dots........I'm no real hand at that kind of thing!

Val my dad has allways made both my boys a cake for there Bdays, so now they expect one every year. Think my dad likes doing them though. Take a pic Val of your cake, would love to see it.
