The news reports today that Dutch investigations confirm that tea (and coffee) drunk as a beverage is beneficial. The report says that those that drink our nations favorite drink are less lightly to suffer from heart problems.

So, there we have it, Yorkshire tea (in my case) will not harm me.

.......and I can confirm that I have seen the inside of my bladder and there is no staining with tannin or any other undesirable compound!!!!!!!!!!!:lol: Lets have a round of applause for das Nederlanders, hip hip...hooray!!!!!

8) Its a grin, honest!

p.s. They did not say anything about digestives and gingernuts?????

Duh. Sometimes I really am too blonde for my own good.

Dachshund: full fat ginger nuts. Low-fat = low enjoyment in my book. I'd rather have one good'un than two not so good'uns! Goes splendidly well with tea. DD

I suppose the occasional cup of dark, filtered coffee and a squashed fly could be imagined? or even, per chance, a bun with a morning cuppa?

Anyone like T with a slice of lemon, quite refreshing!

But the good news is that we can carry on treating ourselves by drinking tea, hows that?

vuvuprat does tea with a chunk of ginger and a slice of lemon. I have tried it but it's not to my taste. Tetley's rule! DD

I'm a coffee snob - at home I always make filter coffee - nice and strong. My current favourite is Taylor Italian rich ground. I tend to drink Earl grey tea. I'm not fussy what brand of tea I have.

Talking of which ... I'm going to put the kettle on for a nice cuppa now.

PS I wonder if S will let me have a flake out of the treat tin to go with it.
I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Don't tell him. Simples. Or is he like my BILs deaf (very) old dog (shuffled off his mortal lead a few years ago now) who could hear a crisp packet being rustled 100 yards away? DD

That is exactly what he is like ... even if he is upstairs and I'm in the kitchen and I run the tap whilst I get the treat tin out and open the wrapper ... he quickly appears to see what he is missing out on!!

Remarkable. I know that many autistics are very sensitive to noise, perhaps this is why. Astonishingly acute hearing. DD

    Hi

I agree there's nothing like a nice cup of tea yorkshire or otherwise.
My favourites are: Assam and A.da's finest teabags! I sometimes buy Yorkshire tea - my day would not be complete without at least 6 cups a day. I'm even fussy about how it's served.......... always in a porcelain mug preferably a white one. My OH goes mad because I hate mugs that have dark insides!!!

It's good to know it's not doing us any harm.

Ah! Now you're starting to talk my kind of language..........fresh water only to be boiled not a hint of reboiled water, Yorkshire T bags left to stand in a large pottery mug and SS or proper milk added last, not too much, ahhhhhh heaven.

Only one thing to add, the T needs to be dunked with a .......digestive is fav.....but then custard creams and gingernuts have there purpose in life to?

I've already done my viagra joke on biscuits, will not bore you with a repeat.

Sharmaine: soak your mugs in a bicarbonate of soda mixture, 1 teaspoon of bicarb per mug, fill with boiling water and leave overnight. Should be sparkling by the morning. If not, repeat. If no bicarb try a denture tablet instead. If you don't have any of those, go and buy some bicarb, it's cheaper. DD

    Hi

I have to run the tap for a few seconds then I rinse out the kettle. It's a skill making tea. OH tends to put too much milk in mine - after all these years of telling him he rarely gets it right! He's a coffee drinker. He laughs at my silly routines ..... I have to ensure the doors are all closed downstairs: toilet door; living room; dining room; hall before I go to bed or before we go out. It would be boring if we were all the same!

Digestives are excellent with tea as well as jammy dodgers; ginger nuts; custard creams; cream cakes; madeira cake; malt loaf - I could go on!!! :D:D
