Well, you know I have been having a long, long battle with the DLA, I have won my appeal, they wrote to me today, with the care component increase, overruling all the other decision makers and backdating it to earlier this year. I already receive high mobility, so that is unchanged. What a fight, but, one battle won. So, it can be done, but, you do have to keep going, not to give up, get all the medical help you can muster. Keep copied of everything and anything and dont let them get you down. :D

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Hi Bubbles, well done. Thats great news.
I really need to try to get my care increased but in too frightened that they'll try to take my indefinite award away & leave me with nothing. Dont like to rock the boat when it took me so long to get it.

Some good news for a change :D

Sorry for not replying sooner to all your kind words and support. As you know we are too and fro to the hospital at the moment.

It is great news and I hope it encourages others not to give up and to stand your ground with the DLA process. It has not been easy and has caused a lot of unwelcome stress along the way, but, I think it is a small victory. XXXX Bubbles

Thank you, he is ok at the moment and I am fighting his corner, once a nurse, always a nurse. I keep reading the letter from the DLA, just to make sure I am not dreaming. XX Bubbles
