Hi

The people of Montenegro have these 10 commandments which seem like a good philosophy for life. However, I wonder whether it extends to the women of Montenegro as well as the men.

1.Man is born tired and lives to get rest.

2. Love thy bed as you love yourself.

3. Rest during the day, so you can sleep at night.

4. Do not work- work kills.

5. If you see someone resting, help him out.

6. Work as little as you can, and convey all the work you can to another.

7. In shade is salvation- nobody died from resting.

8. Work earns illness-do not pass away young.

9. If you have an urge to work, sit down, wait and you'll see it will pass.

10. When you see people eat and drink, approach them; when you see them work, withdraw yourself not to trouble them.

    Hi Toni

I agree about number 9. I've got a big pile of ironing to do, so I'm applying number 9 now :!: :D

Could we take No 9 as a mantra? I work with one who seems to have been born with the knack :D

I find number 9 happens a lot you get fatigued doing nothing i find so dont end up doing anything if you are not careful. Then regret it afterwards.
I have got a small book which has a quote saying "an hour of concentrated work does more to kindle joy to overcome sadness and to set your ship afloat again than a month of gloomy brooding" by Benjamin Franklin from springs of happinness book search press ltd england . it makes sense to me.
