In a 15min appt the doc mentioned - brain scan, stroke, MS, GI bleed, Dowagers hump and osteoperosis. Then he apologised for not being a ray of sunshine! Made me laugh.

All to get back on the anti TNF drugs!

Baby is asleep on my shoulder at the mo. He's gorgeous. Attempting to move him onto formula in preparation for meds. He's got his jabs today. Bless him!

I should be back on the drugs once I've had the brain scan to check there are no problems. Just waiting for the appt!

Got lovely swollen feet and ankles. They burn all day and the burning spreads up my legs as the day goes on. Its having to pace with Harry at the end of the day that finishes me off!

    Hi Jen,

I was very upset about changing to formula after Lucy being the best feeder of my 5 babies. I wasnt ready to give it up. With severe R.A I could just manage to roll on my side to feed her(she slept with me as there was no way I could stand up to get her out of a cot). When I went back on new meds I was upset and also had the added trauma of getting bottles washed, sterilised and kept on the go. However first day got given diclofenic I walked down the stairs for the first time in ages so one blessing replaced my upset after all.
    Hope likewise with you.

Hi, I'm sorry, but thats life for you! It must make life that bit harder, still at least you wouldn't have to worry if you have to leave her, as you can leave the bottle.

Hope all goes well, thats quite a list of problems you've got! I hope you find it easier as time goes by!

    Hi Jenzie,

one step closer to being back on the meds, hope brain scan appt comes through quickly.

Baby sounds gorgeous, and you sound very maternal.

Would other movement apart from you pacing, work for the baby and be easier for you - cuddling her on patio swing/rocking chair/ swishing side to side whilst on a computer chair/pushing her back and forward (you sitting) in pram and then transferring to cot? Just a thought, for the sake of your poor legs.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    Hi Jenzie

Glad to hear that Harry is thriving and that things are happening with regards to you starting medication again. Can you have a proper 'lie-down rest'' when he is asleep during the day..? it's tempting to use that time to do jobs I know, but half an hour or so on the bed or sofa with your feet/legs on a pillow should help.. (it's a long time since my daughter was a baby but I can still remember the constant pacing/swaying from side to side I used to do - sheer exhaustion!)

Speedalong's ideas about conserving your legs sound good too!

    All the best

    Hi Jenzie

So pleased to hear baby Harry is doing so well :D

hope the change to formula goes smoothly.......he will be just fine you know....and at least you will be able to get back on meds to ease your pain once you get the all clear from the doc/ tests....

means you'll also have lots more energy for pushing Harry's pram!

Well Harry doesn't seem to mind the formula but refuses the bottle at the 6.30pm feed. But think its the comfort factor he prefers.
He's had a week of first's this week - he's outgrown his moses basket and his baby bath so he's been in the 'big bath' for the first time and had his afternoon nap in his cot. Tonight he's sleeping in his cot for the first time all night and yesterday he cried actual tears (before it was all noise and a beetroot face but he caught his gum with fingernail which definitely brought tears to his eyes, bless him).
He's very aware and loves to be talked to, which is lovely as I lie him on a pillow on my knee and we sing songs and chat. I've also go a rocking chair which helps relieve the pacing. To be honest I try and avoid the pacing as I can't do it. Harry generally has to adapt to me!

Hi Jenzie....that's a beautiful picture you've painted of you and Harry. he is obviously thriving

treasure these moments as he is/ will grow so quickly ! I'm glad you've got the rocking chair....makes the nursing that much easier to manage.
Smart baby, he will soon adapt I'm sure to what you are able to do and will so love all the cuddles you are giving him. bless xx
