Hi
Well I must say over the last few years if its not been one thing its been another, although I have had arthur for many years (started with my back when I was 38) (55 now) after initial few years it didnt overly bother me only at time to time until these last few years when Hips got worse just had THR 11 weeks ago now knees are killing me, but hey ho thats part of this game, then had my THR cancelled last year cos liver count was high- ok - got that sorted, NOW I have sugar in my blood so have to go for tests for diabetes, when will all this end, every time I have a blood test they find something else.
Denise.

    Hi Denise,
it does seem that life keeps throwing health challenges at you. Try not to panic though, lots of people can control their blood sugar levels through watching a little more closely what they eat. When are you going for the test?

My knee was complaining too, it did a lot prior to my hip op, stopped when I became too crippled to walk more than a few metres and started moaning again this week when I did longer walks... Have bought some shoes with better shock absorption ... but it always seems to be one thing or another ....

    Speedy
I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

since hitting 40 every time I visit the DR he finds more and more wrong with me starting with type 2 diabetes that hit me like a brick wall I'm now having high readings so am now on an injectable drug, anemia, and then it was an underactive thyroid high bp high cholesterol, stomach ulcers/erosions, fibroids needing a total hysterectomy last October then my arthritis was ongoing along with spondelothesis in my spine which could need a pin in it at a later date  , and then SMA they thought it was MS, ( numbness and nerve pain along with pins and needles and burning) my right side is so weak things slip through my fingers all the time also now spread to back and shoulder, I even said to my Dr I'm not visiting you anymore after he suggested as my pulse was much too high I see a cardiologist, got to make an appointment tomorrow, yes I do get annoyed and upset but always always say so what I am strong enough to cope with it all, theirs lots worse off them me :) my DR says I'm a brave and strong woman lol little does he know when I'm crying with pain and frustration

    Hi Denise

Sorry you have had something else thrown at you now. I do remember when they cancelled your hip op, what a worry that must have been. I hope the knee probs are just temporary as the new hip settles in and your mobility improves. I guess the knees are having to work harder at the moment?. Hope you soon get the blood tests sorted and that perhaps a few changes in diet can keep the blood sugar levels down. Let us know how you get on.

    Take care
    Chris

You too lavenderlady, sorry to see you coping with all that.
