Hi all,
just an update on my OT and physio appointments on friday,
I saw the OT first she was really lovely and helpful (i know its her job!)
but she was understanding and patient, She looked at the splints i had last year and trimmed them down as they were to big , gave me new thumb splints, wrist splints and a £25 pair of fingerless gloves called isotoner theraputic gloves these are just what i needed. If you have trouble with your hands and wrists and need some support/soothing comfort these are just the job! I had to make another appointment to see her to see how i get on with them all.
The physio was lovely too she had a student with her from keele uni, an assement was done and she only had time to look at part of my problems and tried me with a stick, no good, it hurt me hand, then she tried a pair of the sticks that go round your arm, again hurt me hands even with the splints on time flies when your having fun so she wanted me to make a double appointment for ASAP so thats in 3 weeks time ( nothing sooner). We have the ball rolling so cannot moan, very pleased with a good 2 hour session!!

Hi Roses - both therapists sound very helpful - excellent!! Shame you have to wait 3 weeks ...
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
Hi Rose
those appointments sounded good and at least you're now getting the help you need....even if it is a little 'staggered'
hope you get some ease with the new splints and the polymer gloves...quite the fashion leader eh?
let us know please how you get on when you next go to physio.

HI Rose

Mind you Cannock (if it was?) is the place for orthopeadics now isn't it?
Hope you get the rest sorted next time
