Finally the day has come & I have my rheumy appointment tomorrow morning. I have filled in the questionnaire, got my photos & printed my list of symptoms & questions. I'm not expecting a diaganosis straight away but it would be nice.

My neck & shoulder haven't been getting any better in fact I still get the 'dead' arm & lose my grip. Certain things are really awkward like getting bras on and off. Trying not to make too much of it as my OH is getting worried. But, it is that bad if the rheumy can't do anything tomorrow I am seriously thinking of popping back into see my physio & I hate physio. OH wanted me to see a doc but I have been holding off for a miracle tomorrow.

    Hi Anne
Really, really good luck with your appointment tomorrow - sounds as if you are really well prepared. I suspect that you may well be sent for further tests after your appointment, so please don't be too disappointed if there is not an immediate answer - unfortunately these things do take time. But you will at least have taken the first step towards a proper diagnosis and treatment. And hopefully the consultant will be able to prescribe some pain relief for you, to help you in the meantime.

Please do let us know how it goes - I will be thinking of you.

    Love Tilly x

Oh Anne, at last you are on your way. You have done well to have all the information with you. They usually appreciate it as it gives them a better idea of what is going on.

As Tilly said you will probably be sent for more tests etc. Still I hope that you get some idea as to what is going on.

Will be thinking of you, good luck.

I know it would be optimistic to get diaganosis tomorrow. I just hope they don't send me away with a 'there is nothing wrong with you'

Already on pretty heavy painkillers for the OA/FAI so I know they won't give me any more, just hope they don't take them away.

Hope they can do something about my neck/shoulder or it will be another trip to my GP.

    Thanks

    Anne

    HI Anne,

if you need us to go with you there is a whole gang of forum users who are seasoned pocket-lurkers for all types of appointments  just say the word and we'll all be there with you tomorrow.

Mind you, it can get a bit overcrowded on pocket trips and they do have quite a party some times :lol: so be warned!!

seriously, hope that you at least get some answers, and a plan for future tests,

    thinking of you

Good luck for tomorrow Anne!

you're definitely well prepared and having your questions ready is great..... is your OH going into the consultant with you? can be helpful to have someone with you as back up just in case you forget something.

I doubt they'll say there's nothing they can do....especially with your shoulder and neck symptoms...that can't be ignored! as others have said, the docs will probably do other tests tomorrow and hopefully you'll get some idea of a likely diagnosis .
At least your now on the right road and can get better pain relief.

will be thinking about you tomorrow. good luck and let us know how you get on.

    love n hugs,

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.
