Reminds me of the poem, Macavity.
Macavity, Macavity, there's no on like Macavity,
He's broken every human law, he breaks the law of gravity.
His powers of levitation would make a fakir stare,
And when you reach the scene of crime--Macavity's not there!
You may seek him in the basement, you may look up in the air--
But I tell you once and once again, Macavity's not there!
Just substitute Rehab for Macavity :!:0 -
If you do that Joan it does not rhyme though.
Don't worry we will find him for you Pal.0 -

Ha ha - not sure if Rehab fits the bit that says '.....his head is highly domed, his coat is dusty from neglect, his whiskers are uncombed'
It was always one of my favourite poems!

It's poetic license, Trish
Annie, maybe this part of the poem is more apt:
He's the bafflement of Scotland Yard, the Flying Squad's despair:
For when they reach the scene of crime--Macavity's not there!

now that does fit better. we would not change a hair on his head

Too right, Val.........considering that he has been eluding gnomes, Fat Kev, passengers on the boat and pirates, Scotland yard and the Flying Squad are a piece of cake!
