Some of you will know me - I have not logged on since my last crisis but just thought I would log on and say Hi.

My computer died, (sob sob) and my sister has lent me hers as I need to write all my end of term reports for the adults that I teach. Yep you guessed it instead of doing that, I connected it to the internet and thought I would chat to you guys.

I am doing well - my Reactive arthritis is really under control and I am in the process of reviewing and reducing the drugs that I take which is an amazing place to be in. But I have got a stinking cold today. Not sure what all that is about.

Just want to say Hi, to those who know me and those who don't.

Fay xxx

I take sulphasalazine (500 grms) 2 twice a day and hydroxychloroquine (200 mgs) once a day. I used to take 5 sulpha and 2 hydroxy but reduced in Feb. Doing well - had 1 major flare for a week in april and I am due to see Rheumy in august. Not sure if they will reduce again. I am so much better than I was. I still have pain everyday but nothing compared to what it was like. I guess we learn to live with it.

    Hi Fay

I am still here   Sooo good to hear that you are doing well and in the process of perhaps reducing the drugs. Wow, that is such good news - as you really went through it big time for a very long time. Sorry to hear about your cold but that is small fry for you to contend with, after all you have been through, but would be best without it, of course. :)

Keep up the good work, look after yourself and enjoy the summer! 8)

    Luv

    Thanks everybody

I feel like it is bit of a homecoming. It is like having a cuppa with old friends. As you say elna a cold is nothing compared to lots of other things- I am pleased it is just a cold. As you all know - flare ups usually start with cold symptoms and I do tend to have a little panic when it starts as I am not sure - but this is def a cold. I can't stop sneezing!!

I will reply to those who have Reactive Authur - I was known as the ReA Resident Expert. Happy to help!

    Take care all

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Hello and glad you are doing so well.

I was interested in you taking hydroxycholoroquine as I was going to ask my Rheumy on Wednesday about that. I was initially diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis then rediagnosed with SLE (a form of Lupus) and PolyArthritis and was reading about this med.

    Hi

Hydroxycholroquine. It is a good drug - not had any problems with it. I have taken it nearly for 3 years at full dose of 400mg - reducing it now.

It is very good for chronic fatique and works really well in combination with other drugs. Least toxic of the dmards. I think it is meant to be good also for skin rashes that are associated with SLE.

I would ask your rheumy and give it a go.

    Fay xx

Still have not finished my reports, stinking cold really got me over the weekend with sore throat and spent much of it on the sofa. Feel bit brighter today - been out for a little walk and getting ready for work tomorrow - but feels like it is taking me 3 times longer than usual. So will wait until I feel much better because I need to concentrate!!!!
