Hi to all, well I have have somewhat of a strange week Happy on wednesday and nearly dead on thursday. I have been layed up for about a week and on wednesday got my letter saying that i had won star letter in the summer issue of the Arthritis Care mag. So I felt really good on thursday and whnt for a walk. Living in the northeast means I am not far away from lovely countryside so i ventured north to Ponteland for a walk. Nothing strenuos the I had a heart attack and people were just walking past me lying in the street. So dragged my self back to the car. Home and an ambulance Blue lights to newcastle General. So now to add insult to injury I have some new additions to my tablet box and a spray for under my tongue. To say I was slightly Miffed would be the undersatement of the year. :(:(:(:(

how awful for you that no-one offered you a helping hand....what are we coming to that people can walk by while someone is having a heart attack. :?

I am just glad that you were able to get yourself emergency treatment and are now ok (relatively speaking)

take care, rest and keep taking your multitude of tablets.

OMG - what are people thinking of these days, to leave someone clearly in need of assistance without help?

Even if they don't feel they can help most people have a mobile these day and can call an ambulance.

Mind you, I did fall down some steps once and no one would help until someone I knew came along - she said they probably thought I was drunk.......at 10am? (Long before 24 hour opening).

awful John I cannot believe it. I imagine they thought you were drunk or homeless or something! peeps are scared of intervening. Oh dear glad you are okay and managed to get to Hospital yourself! Could have been a tragedy.

    Take care

What a week you have had!! From excitement to really scary. Good job you managed to take yourself home and call an ambulance somehow. For your next publication venture you should write to the local rag and describe what happened and how everyone walked on by - and how you hope those people are never in the same situation as you ...

Rest up - try and have an ordinary few days!!

    Hi John,

I really hope your feeling a lot better now?

Its a sad reflection on the times we live in that means people are becoming immune to someone on the floor as there are so many people drunk and rolling about but its so sad.

Fingers crossed you wont need the spray but if you do it is good and works very quickly. You take good care of yourself. Cris x

Aw John, you have had a strange week, haven't you? Goodness me, how awful for you, I can hardly believe that no-one helped you. That must have been so scary. I cannot believe that happening in our little town, but one never knows, I hope I don't ever have to find out.

I know someone who fell in the road (OA of the knee) and people did help but the cars kept continuing, going round her! This was not where I live.

I have renewed my subs to AC and hopefully I will get the mag soon. I had not realised that my membership had expired, so thank you for posting your great news earlier in the week.

Go careful now, John, and do let us know how you are going on, every now and again. Some of us have a soft spot for you, you know!:)

    Luv

blimey! what a shocker for you in many ways.

glad that you are back home and hope you are feeling better than you were.

what are a few more tablets if they keep you feeling well?

As for the people who walked past - perhaps the suggestion of a letter to the local paper is a very good one .... after all with a talent for writing like you have (I looked out my copy of the Arthritis News after your last thread) you are bound to prick their consciences.

all the best for a swift recovery

    Hi,
Well, thats one week you won't want to repeat parts of!

I so glad that you are home after all the drama. Its hard to believe that in this country and this day and age, not one person stopped for you, at the very least, someone could have dialed 999, even if they didn't feel able to get involved. I'm so sorry and I hope most of us would do something.

All you have to do now is to take care of yourself and I hope you soon feel fit again.
Lots of love and good wishes, Sue

Poor you, handsy. It is unbelievable that people would react in such a way - at least they could have asked if you needed an ambulance.

Many congratulations on winning star letter, though.

I was appalled, angry, sad and upset when I read your post, John. It's unbelievable that people could ignore someone who obviously needs help. This is the result of the binge drinking culture we have to put up with. I DO wish they would make good manners and responsible behaviour fashionable again.

How in heavans name did you manage to get home and sort yourself out. What strength of character you must have. I can only take my hat off to you. I do hope you are feeling a lot better and the incident hasn't 'spooked' you.

Sending you my best wishes, and stay well.

    Hello John,
I am so very sorry that this happened to you. I really cannot understand it. I am shocked and disappointed that people can behave in such a crass manor.

Wishing you a very speedy recovery and sending you all my best wishes.

What a roller coaster of a week for you John.

Sorry to hear you were ill in that way and
cant believe that no-one even asked if you
    needed help.

Amazed at how you got yourself back to your
car and then managed to drive.

Hope you feel much better now
even though its another load of tablets
    alongside all the others.

    Take care
    Love Kath
