Hi All

Im having a really painful time with my knee at moment, it hurts so much and Im finding the more standing I have to do such as in queues in shops, cooking a meal is getting worse. Im on the co-proxamol but am currently also experiencing palpitations which even with pain killers or if I have a single alcoholic drink (which I dont do much, bout once a week) then they still persist.
Had a hellish night last night, its been really rainy here, but went to bed and was dry in mouth (were like the bottom of a budgies cage my mouth) despite taking water to bed with me.....Was still wakened at 5.00am and never got up till 10.10......Had to go to M & S and could have slept at till.....

Sorry, moaning Minnie eh?? Just kinda hope im this bad on my appeal tribunal date mind....

Elaine

Sorry you are suffering with your knee again Elaine. Do you use a stick or crutch? It helps when queuing because then you can shift your weight around a bit and off the bad knee. Might be worth asking for an OT referral for a perching stool for the kitchen too - the slope forwards and are useful for washing up and other chores you usually do standing up.

Do you wear a knee support?

It was very warm here last night for sleeping too.

If the meds aren't suiting you - go back to the docs.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    Hi Elaine

I am sorry to read you are not doing too well at the moment. As suggested ice, elevation and knee relief. I take it you are on anti inflams on a regular basis too.

Wish I could send you some of the lovely weather we are having in the south. We are really being very greedy around here with the heat and sunshine.

    Luv

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

    Hi Speedy

Its like toothache x 20 today this damn knee of mine...I use a walking stick just one, pinched it from my brother at first but its been my constant companion for a year now....I do try and shift weight but today in M & S was leaning right over in half at counter, sure she thought i was a bit weird.....I remember the perching stool as my dad had one with THR.....The knee brace I dont know about, last November I had my leg taped is that the same? Thing is ive got horrible, flabby legs.....Seeing doc on Tuesday thank god....
