All systems go then, Hileena :D Bet you received the letters in three separate envelopes too  It certainly does not seem that long ago that you were posting about your first forthcoming THR.

At least it will not all be the unknown to you will it, this time around?

    Look after yourself,

Oh Hileena the year is just whizzing by isn't it? Well, you will be able to look back on 2010 as the year you were 'rejuvenated!!

    Best wishes

Wow Hileena, that has come around quick!! They don't mess about at your hospital do they?!

However, since you can't appreciate the new hip properly because of the a-waiting one, I think this is good news for you.

I can't help re the meds - did look it up in the BNF and no interactions between the two meds were listed - but I'd check with pharmist or doctor.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Hi Hileena, the pain that keeps you awake is it your new hip or the one that needs doing?

Are you still trying to sleep on your side? Which side - operated or in-waiting?

Hi, They say things come in three's, so that should be you sorted! You'll be tired and in need of a rest when you go into hospital, not that hospitals are very restful places, they get you out of bed before you know it, but at least thats good for you! :)

I hope everything goes well for you and you make a speedy recovery!

    Hello Hileena,

I know what you are going through!!! When I had my right hip replaced - there was very little pain relief and I was wondering whethe it was worth having the left hip done - 3 months later I had the left hip replaced and once I was fully back on my feet the pain had all but gone - I think you are probably putting agreat deal of strain on your 'new' hip because your other one is so painful!!!

I have had 5 THR to date - 3 on the left and 2 on the riht - all well spaced out and I am still walking about etc....

    Good luck!!

Let us know how it goes

    Paddybandit. :)
