Hi everyone,
Ive been back to the Medical Day Ward for my second injection, yet again saw a different doctor.... and at my last appointment in may was told it was OH i had, this time the doctor agreed that i have OH but it wasnt the only arthur i had, and OH wasnt the worst one of the ones i have, he said i have also got PsA, in my case the PsA is the worse one i have.
So gready ol' me has now finally been diagnosed with Gouty Arthritis, Osteoarthritis and Psoriatic Arthritis.
So needless to say (excuse the pun) they didnt inject my knee. The rhummy feels the PsA needs treating so he has given me the choice of medication:
1) Methotrexate
2) Sulfasalazine
Anyone got any advice or suggestions? Ive been told that methotrexate is the better one but i cannot have children whilst on it.... my head is mush.... and i desperatly want children...
help.....

I'm on both Methotrexate and Sulphasalazine...
From the documentation I was given, Methotrexate is a definate no no, if you want children....In high doses its used in abortions.......and can be transmitted between partners.
Sulphasalazine can reduce sperm count, but has not bad effects on baby.
Sorry I can't be more helpful......

Hi, Difficult to decide but under the circumstances I would go for the Sulfa as it is the milder one and they could change if it does not work for you.
Good luck anyway and let us know how you get on.
