Some people

Hi
Some people have a gift for making you feel better just for having seen them, and spending some time in their company, don't they? My best friend is like this. It doesn't matter what life throws at her, and she has had more than her fair share of troubles, but she always stays positive and strong.
She has had a great deal of ill-health, and personal misfortunes over the years I have known her ( over 20 years ) and now she has cancer. Her attitude from the time she was diagnosed has been amazing to me. Despite receiving cancer treatment, she is so determined to carry on with her normal life as far as possible, and she never complains. I am humbled by her courage and positive attitude.
This afternoon, I took her out for a cream tea, one of her favourite treats, and we had a wonderful time chatting, laughing, and putting the world to rights. She told me that the secret is to live for the moment, and not to worry about the future too much, but to enjoy the present. I think she is right, and I came home feeling privileged to have such a good friend.

I should imagine she has a great sense of humor too.

Ah!
Joan!!
she sounds lovely, but I reckon she might well say something similar about you too. Friends and freindship sort of breeds or grows and gets better over time.
I do hope she keeps well

She's obviously been a very good influence on you, Joan. And yes, you are lucky to have such a friend. She sounds fabulous.

Thank you Julie, Trisher, Toni, and Nina for your good wishes. I was feeling rather emotional when I wrote this, having just returned from a lovely afternoon with my friend. It helped me to write down how I was feeling, and it is so nice to receive the support of friends on here.
When I said that some people make you feel better just by being in their company, that includes so many friends on this forum too, so thank you for being such lovely people.

Hi Joan
I have heard about your lovely friend before
and am pleased that she is able to go out with you.
She is amazing and you are both lucky to have found
each other. Friends like her can be thin on the ground
especially these days when there is so much going on
in people's lives.
Take care of each other, your friend gives out
so much love and advice.
