    Hi,
Well, at least you'r not being kept waiting such a long time for something to happen. I suppose you are a bit worried that everything is going through so quickly, I think maybe that by going directlly to the consultant you have cut out a lot of administration, and he just looked in his diary and saw a space and thats that. No receptionist or clerks to put you on this list or that. Also, this is the holiday season and I expect they get lots of cancellations to fill. Also they may want you to start treatment as soon as possible, as often that can make a big difference to its effectivness.

Tomorrows not long and then you will have things explained properly to you. :)
    Lots of love Sue

    Hi rose

    Write it down

Times datse duration of pain and stiffness.

Whether you feel 'ill' with it e.g tired or feverish, nausea.

What you have tried e'g meds or heat/cold pcks etc What works and what hasn't or has made things worse...

How it affects you eg mobility and driving walking work, sleep etc.

Above all take someone with you if you can....

    waht times' your apt?

    Love

Hi Rose, pin up a list and everytime you think of something add it on to the list. You can number them by priority at the end. Good luck tomorrow!!

    Speedy

PS read through your old posts as these might also help you think what you want/need to ask.
I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    Hi Rose

I agree with everyone so far - write everything down and bring the list with you - it would also help if you could bring someone with you, a friend, partner or someone that knows you and your condition - 1st appointments can be daunting - and it helps to have someone there to help remember what was said etc...
    .

Let us all know how it goes!

    Hi All,

Thankyou for the advice and kindness and joggin my memory!
I will let you all know whats what when i return. I just want to know my results and not have to wait 4 months to find out. I thought i would have plenty of time to be making my list of 'oh i forgot to mention last time....' but still its all good because now i don't have to wait.
Thankyou for being there and offering to come with me i will keep the tissues in my pocket, clean ones of course, so you have something soft to rest on incase you need to make an emergency landing!

Hope you all have a lovely day :)

    Bloomin ell!!

Cannock hosp working fast for you? That's something i've never heard of. My experience is that they work so slow in getting you in for treatment etc. I'm glad they've been efficient for you. Good luck with your appt.

    Hi Janie ,
    How are you?
Yes cannock hospital did work a little faster, may have been something to do with me being impatient and in pain, as when i had my x-rays done i asked how long it would be, she said about 3 weeks and i told her my app wasnt for 3 to 4 months! she advised me to ring the Dr sec and ask for results to be sent to my doc, so i rang Dr sec who was the consultants sec of who i am under you kno him Dr Mulherin and she told me to email him and he would sort it. So i email DR M and told him all my syptoms etc and wanted to kno results etc and he got back to me the next day and said he would pass on to Dr Baker as he had seen me and that he would be in touch. Well i was blown away as tuesday they rang with an appointment for today!! It could also have been , because the tablets he prescribed for me put me in hospital so perhaps he felt he ought to see me!

    sorry if it seems garbled

    Hi roes

I am glad for you that you have had good service. As you know I go to Wolverhampton, which was initially because they had the shortest list and i was deperate. But I also like the fact that it's a teaching hospital so when he expolains to the students I get to listen too

Just out of interest did he prescribe you anything new? I remember the arcoxia did noy suit you at all

    Love
