Bad Ideas traces the fascinating history of our attempts at self-improvement but also questions their value. It assasses the past and looks forward to the opportunities and ethical challengers of the future.

Well I will give it a go

I'm waiting for The Husband to go on Amazon to order books so I can sneak in the new Bill Bryson on the history of the home. I do find houses fascinating, and have been known to pose as a woman of some substance so I can get in to nosey round interesting houses on the market! DD

I know what you mean babycham, a good blub is VERY cathartic! Light reading is Lee Child (Reacher! Phwoar!), medium reading is Bryson and Elizabeth George, and heavy reading is the Old English booklist supplied to me by wulf. Slowly making progress with that, tho Melvyn Bragg does write well on OE. DD

Of course she's telling the truth (!). I don't fancy it much, but if you're willing to dip in . . . DD

Dan Brown's bollox about the code thingy, you know, his first book. Total pants. Poorly researched, badly written and dull. DD
