Hi everyone, hope your having a good day.
Furthur tale from ESA medical. On my form I detailed just what I could not do in Kitchen Thanks to arthur I can just about stab a ready meal and put in microwave on a good day, cereal on bad. I explained this at medical saying that I could not prepare a meal from scratch as I cannot use knifes etc and as an ex cook with at least 50 cookbooks, I found this extremely distressing! She entered something on computer then looked at me and said "so you are safe in the kitchen!!! I replied that I was aware of what I could not do safely i.e everything exempt mircowave and kettle as OT supplied me with kettle tipper! I give up, I am waiting to see what decision is and what report says. :!: :!: :!: :!:

    For heaven's sake!!!!

You are not safe to use knives, hot pans, cookers, grills, to bend to the freezer and lift stuff out - too bend to the oven and lift HOT stuff out, to pour hot water out of an ordinary kettle...

    need i carry on?

That person is a twonk - I DREAD to think what she will have put

You 'can prepare a five course meal for a family of 6' or something....

    Love

Hi, Even I am not safe in the kitchen. When my wrists give way and I have a hot pan or dish in my hands, I can't help droping it, it happens so quickly too. I picked up a sharp knife to cut a tomato, yesterday, and had to hold it with my fingers on the blade to get enough strength to cut, guess what I cut? Yes, my bloody fingers!!

All those stupid questions, why not ask your GP for their opinion and a list of specialists you've seen and treatments. That should tell an intelligent person what you might be able to do and not do. Ohh, I'm off again!!!
    Sorry, love Sue

Oh my goodness. I have heard it all now  What a load of old tosh. That person's brain cell must have gone AWOL. Where do they find these people?

So you are safe in the kitchen because you do not go in there, only to use the kettle and put a meal in the microwave.

Do let us know more when you see the report.

    Luv
    Elna x
The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Hi, I feel really sorry for you, I'm in the process of appealing, I only got 6 points. I understand that they want to get people back to work, for all kinds of reasons, the cost of benefit, being the major one, I think. I want to go back because I get bored. Anyway, thats enough of a rant, I hope everything goes well for you and that you are given the benefit. Some people must get it straight away, so I hope that you are one of them.

Sorry if that sounded a bit abrupt, I think the whole apparatus of judging eligibility sucks. The questions while not trick questions obviously convey more to the DWP than those filling them in.

    Thanks everyone
We can't win can we! Arthur moves in takes over your life, stops you doing everyday things without a great deal of pain and discomfort but when you adapt your lifestyle to accomadate him, by going on courses, buying gadgets etc so that you have some form of life and it is held against you!!
Will be getting copy of report so will let you know. If I don't get it I will take it to Tribunal again :!: :!: :!:
