Did you all see the news then - alcohol is good for arfur. Sadly not for all types, only for rheumatoid. Think I'll try it anyway tho'; can't hurt can it?
I hope my former GP is reading it too. He's the one who told me 4 drinks at the weekend was 'too much'!!

Hi
Oh - must have missed that on the news!!
I will check that out ... I don't drink these days (on methotrex) and sometimes feel desperate for a gin and bitter lemon!!
Thanks

Hi
Bet your GP drinks more than that!!
Pity it doesnt work for Osteo maybe I should ask my Rheumy if he wants to trial it & I would volunteer!

There's another thread going on this - and we are all different in what we can tolerate alcohol-wise. I think some GPs are still in the dark ages on this one! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I have just had a glass of Pears Cidar at 5.3% vol. Is that high?
Felt really good afterwards. Very sleepy
Don't normally have much to drink because I am on MTX and know that you cannot have much alcohol because it affects the way the drug works and the possible damage to liver and kidneys.
So I think I have had my limit this week. And I would have loved a gin and tonic aswell.

So, alcholol is good for RA.
Not for me with the MTX.

Do you leave all alcohol alone Joseph.
I don't drink any for weeks, then now and again, I just fancy one.

I read the report in the Daily Mail (yesterday's news tomorrow).
Two rheumatologists conducted a survey on 873 people it says.
Their report will not affect my lifestyle or approach to living with ra
one iota. Will it change yours?0 -
No. (hic) DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
