Hi all

I've been getting heel pain for the last couple of months, some days its so unbearable I can barely walk. Has anyone else experienced this? I have inflammatory arthritis by the way... :(

    Hi

It sounds like plantar fasciitis - I get that in my heel when I have a flare up of Rheumatoid Arthritis in my ankle. If you look it up on google you will find some helpful exercises.. You need to do exercises before you get out of bed as it can be extremely painful when you first put your foot on the floor in the morning.

    best wishes

I had plantar fasciitis on and off for about two years, and I really sympathise with you because it was like walking with a pebble in my shoe. I had a couple of injections, but they didn't seem to make much difference, and I also did the exercises.

I think the turning point for me was when I bought a pair of really supportive lace-up shoes. They weren't the most fashionable shoes in the world, but the pain eventually went away. Thankfully, it hasn't returned.

yes before my ia was under control now it plays up from time to time but make sure foot wear has lots of padding on sole (crocks do not look good but great when you need the padding act as shock absorbers. have been known to sit with them on ice pack when bad.

    Hi,

I've suffered from bad heel pain for the last 18 months. I have bought so many shoes to try to ease the pain, and had things to put in my shoes from a podiatrist - none really helped much. Then, a couple of months ago I read an article about fit flops, they are a godsend! I still get pain, especially in the mornings, but I'm able to walk fairly "normally" during the day in them. They cost about £50, but I think they are worth every penny!
