Oh Ailsa
Better start sneaking in the odd bevvy here and theer like i do - nowhere near as many as I used to but the odd one.
Try not to neglect your friends too much if you can help it.
As for the other.....well is isnt easy to feel like it when you are in pain, but once started you could find it takes your mind off the pain a bit??

May I join the nun club? I can't be doing without the alcohol but the other? I can remember the last time but I ain't gonna confess - not on here anyway! Arthritis saps your energy so much - it's not just the every-day routine things that suffer, the more personal things do too. I am so sorry - I don't know what else to say. Hi Ailsa
Sorry to hear that you are feeling like a "teetotal nun" at the mo. Yep, do keep that sense of humour. Don't let arthur take that away from you. As for for odd little drinkie, I have taken the full whack of cocos daily for months some time ago and did not drink but then a nurse friend said to me that if you have a drink y ou will just get more tired. As for tramadol, never taken that so not sure about the odd tipple when on that. Shame you could not take the diclo. They are effective for inflammation. After a couple of years I could not take them anymore due to stomach probs. I was then prescribed an alternative of arcoxia and they were ok.
If you could lessen the pain and discomfort you have I am sure things would improve in the bedroom. Perhaps a visit to the gp to ask for other meds if possible.

Same here used to like the odd beer at the weekend but recently I have felt like falling asleep after just one pint, I think its worse when you have a flare up because your body has to cope with it all.
Mind you think of the money saved lol
Oh and the health benefits from cutting down, But then again I have started to compensate with the odd bit of chocolate - Hope things get better soon.0 -
 teetotal .... what ?
I'm sure I read somewhere recently that alcohol is beneficial with regards arthritis.
Though perhaps that was just wishful thinking. 8) Couldn't do without my glass or 2 of fizzy ozzy plonk each evening, cheers up the day.
Enjoy whatever your 'indulgence' is, glass of wine, couple of chunks of choc, few strawbs and cream. Hey, life can be grotty enough with this illness, we need a bit of pleasure.
Fay - glass in hand as no doubt you can tell xx0 -
Wise words, fayrose - my dry white is sitting besides me as I type! We all need some cheer tho it is true to say, re the alcohol, that some livers can cope better than others. My Kelly's Cornish Clotted Cream ice cream is also waiting for me for later - that lovely stuff's on offer at Sainsbury's! I will add some more tubs to my collection tomorrow. One tub lasts about five days, I currently have three and one started. I need more! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

once again thankyou for your replies....The only reason I have not got a nice chilled glass of white besides me is because of the ammount of co-codamol and tramadol ive been taking Im worried about the side effects ..ive tried going without pain relief for aday just so I can enjoy a couple of glasses but the pain to much to bare at the moment...not had pain free day for 4/5 months now...I'm sat ere now with heat pad on ankles that i keep moving to different body parts and a heat pad on my back....the microwave as never pinged so much,,,,lol,,,,,hopefully wen i av seen rheumy on the 7th sep he/she will give me something stronger for my pain and that i can enjoy a nice bottle of white.....by the way I think you are all lovely on ere Ailsa x x x0
