Criminals.

Now I'm no scientist but the liberal approach to crime is to "council" and positively enforce good behaviour with "positive stimulus" ie nice holidays ASBO's ie a metaphorical waggy finger at the naughty wayward individual hasn't really work unless you count repeat offending as the result you were looking for.
My reasoning for this view is the constant crimes we see on TV each and every day being committed by the same little s&%#s day in day out, a good example is a lad in the news today, after 600 offences he still hasn't got the message has he, now I would like to try an experiment with someone just like him, it's quite cheap but I think it would be very effective, it goes like this, every time they offend you take them to the scene of the crime and zap them behind the ear with a cattle prod!, that's it simple or what!?.
I'm sure this would work because if I got a zapping each time I did a crime instead of a nice bag of metaphorical sweats as a reward I know which one would make me think it's not such a bright idea.
So over to you lot!.

Don't zap behind the ear mell, they might have their memory wiped clean and err again. Get them in the gonads. They'll remember that. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Does the title of this thread remind anyone else of the advert for fungal nail infection??
Just a thought... :oops:0 -
Well paint his nails then......see what happens. Where my son is working at the moment there is virtually no crime.....a shopkeeper told my son and DIL that he had what they wanted out the back....off he trots when he came back my son aid about leaving the money in the till with people he had never seen or if anyone came in.
The shop keeper told them that if they are seen or caught they have a hand chopped off for stealing.
It works though, I don't agree with it but even the thought of it is enough to make people afraid.
It is against the law to drink in the street only children are allowed to.
They have to carry ID to prove how old they are.

I think that medical experiments should be performed on people serving life sentences.
Not just serious experiments but also make up (save the rabbits) so that the lifers go around with bright blue eyeshadow on as well as proper life saving experiments.
There, I said it, I feel better now.

Loving all the posts on this thread and agree wholeheartedly. Has anyone else seen on the news the girl in Notts who got tasered by the police by mistake? After watching the news very carefully, it transpired that this girl was 14 years old, standing outside some shops with her friends when the police were called. The police were trying to get one of her friends. Now, if one of my daughters came home telling me that, I'd have more to say about why they were there causing a disturbance, not blaming the police for trying to do their job!
They need to make prisons more like the old victorian prisons, no TV in their rooms, shared smelly bathrooms and tiny cells. They should give up their "human rights" when they commit crimes. Some criminals have a better standard of life behind bars!
There's a prison in Texas where the warden makes them all sleep in tents outside, do hard labour all day and eat cr@p food. Their uniform is pink shorts, nothing else. When anyone complains, he says "If they don't like it, they don't have to come back!"
When I read about child molesters and the worst kind of criminal, part of me wants to lock the criminal in a room with the victim's family for an hour. Extreme, I know, but some of the horrid stuff that happens in this world breaks my heart.

OMG!!!!!
I would tell my daughters off for sure if they were playing up, BUT I would also be livid if one of my kids got TASERED
I dont like seeing groups of kids and actively encourage mine to go out in twos maybe threes and make sure they understand that some vulnerable people find them intimidating.
Therefore I would be LIVID and no mistake if one of mine got harmed accident or otherwise. Lucy is only 12 years ol, but taller than me and she has epilepsy - this is NOT good not good0 -
I've watched a programme on that jail too with tents outside etc. It was brilliant.
Prisoners here in the UK are receiving compensation for slopping out as against human rights. What about the basic human right of their victims to live their lives fully without fear, pain and loss?
I really get angry when I hear people say that the punishment is being locked up and that is enough. Some of these criminals could never be rehabilitated adequately and do not deserve to EVER be freed.
I watched a programme about a prison here in Edinburgh and the little twerps all the teenagers were saying that their little waste of space friends give them respect if they have spend time in prison.
I am ranting. I have alot more to say however I am getting all angry now so shall stop!
Ocht, if I ruled the world .......... Carol0 -
I saw a lot of these young thugs during the course of my work as a Counsellor. Usually referred by Social Services, or as a result of a Court Order.
Over a year ago, I refused point blank to see any more. I felt that any success I had soon went out of the window the minute they were back with their peers, and in many cases, their own families.
In my opinion, it is the parents who need educating, before these young people are even born. We seem now, however, to be stuck in a vicious circle where the evil is passed on from one generation to another.
I sometimes feel like I`ve thrown the towel in, but I am realistic enough to know when I`m serving no purpose.........Ange.0 -
You ok now Carol??
I know - there's so much more you could say...
Yes Ange - often it IS dysfunctional families to blame generation after generation of them
Hiding to nothing
