Seems a bit unfair Val and as o means testing that much..... its not very kind is it? I know people who have had the emergency payments... hell one even got a washing machine paid for ..... it just doesn't make sense to me at all. Cris xx

she was upset but said she would rather borrow the money off her mum it was like begging and who can remember what they spent every penny on then it was if we give it you you have to pick it up at the job center and take id she has no pasport does not drive and utility bills in oh name she said she has letter from socil they said we do not accept that lol so she would not have been able to pick it up if they had given it her

They never get it right, do they? They're either dishing it out like it grows on trees to people who don't need it or, like your mate Val, they make you beg for every penny

They are like that with emergency payments - like back to the old Poor Laws when they made you sell your stuff before giving you any handouts.

I think they would rather you borrowed off your family to be honest.

Mind you when I was social working the number of peopel we would get cioming in on benefit day....."my purse has been stolen - can't feed the kids" they knew we would have to help. In the end we either gave them vouchers for certain supermarket (food only - bought specially) or we sent a family support worker to buy what the 'needed'. So many spent it on slot machines, **** and drink/drugs. We couldnt trust them.

Problem is it means others get treated like your friend Val who is a victim of THEIR c*ck-up!!

Not a nice world is it?

    Love

    Toni xx

does make you wonder who they employ some times the letters were wrong and if so they should have sent others out that were not wrong who was proof reading them do not get me wrong i make mistakes but if it was going to affect others would be double checking it all .
