Hi Everyone
Had a good 4 hours in work today - felt much longer than 4 hours though and I was so tired when I got home at 3 30 pm that I had a lie down and fell asleep so have only just got up again!! (I'll pay for that tonight!)
Most of my colleagues had not seen me for 3 months, so were amazed at the difference/improvement in how I was walking -so that really pleased me.
My hip has held up well today - just a slight ache this afternoon - but my leg/ankle/foot was quite swollen (it's gone down again now).
I've got my first out-patient appt at the hospital tomorrow afternoon, so am looking forward to seeing my x-rays and asking all the questions I forgot to ask when I had my operation!
Thanks again everyone - I have to confess I did sneak a quick look at the Forum round about lunchtime today..
Hi Cris - quess what - got home to find a note from the dog walker to say that Poppy had rolled in something again whilst in the park (? fox poo) - glad I didn't have her bathed and groomed last week after all - that would have been a waste of money!!
Love from Marion X0 -
Hi Marion
Very pleased to hear you had a good first day. Lovely to see them all I bet
Glad the swelling went down too - suggests that it's not too soon to be back. Your surgeon will be pleased you are back. Will be interesting to see the xrays yes.
Take care
Love

Hi, Thats good news, but make sure you don't over do it! I know how easy it is to find yourself just doing a bit more and a bit more and thats not good! :?
Good Luck!!!0 -
Hi Marion, well done for surviving first day back. Wow that was a long "snooze" - you must have needed it! Did you elevate your leg at lunchtime?
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
Well done Marion, what a result. Make sure you get some rest today, 'cos you face it all again tomorow! Getting out and about does make a difference, it reminds one that the world carries on and that there are things you can do and that life isn't all about arthritis! I am so pleased for you. Hi Folks
Thanks again for your continuing good wishes.. well - it was my second day in work today and I did a lot of walking about/up and down stairs (with my crutch) so am absolutely knackered and am having to go to bed early (8 00 pm)!
New hip is still absolutely great - it's the rest of my body that need replacing I think!
I'm not in work tomorrow, so plan to rest up so that I am ready for the challenge of work again on Friday!
Hope arthur is being kind(er) to you all today..
Nite, Nite

Hi Folks..
Well - I (just about) survived my first week back at work.. Monday and Wednesday were really exhausting, but Friday was good and several times I found myself walking down the corridor and then realised I didn't have my crutch with me!!
It's been good to have to concentrate on things other than my operation...
I will be doing 4 days next week (still just 4 hours each day) so again I'm a little apprehensive about that ..
Thanks ever so much for all your support.. I haven't been posting much this week as I have been so tired, but will be checking the forum properly this weekend..

Hi Marion,
Glad the week ended better than it started and well good luck next week. Its good that you are able to go back reasonably gently re hours and well done for the corridor thing but go a bit careful fr a week r so.
Hope you get a bit of decent weather there this week end? We got Autumn and rubbish hay  Oh I am so predictable ((( ))) and hope the 2 loons are on their good behaviour there just now? Cris xx0 -
Hi Marion
Good to hear that your first week back was a success.
Although you must be exhausted you must also be feeling on top of the world being part of the world again and some normality.
Well done and hope you have a good restful weekend for next week.
