Hi there my daughter-7 yrs has JIA (diagnosed in May )she has recently got problems with her right ankle and is walking on toes, bottom shuffling up stairs, using knee to get up in bunk bed etc- saw physio yesterday who suggested a few exercises but should she be wearing a night splint?Interestingly her right wrist thats been troubling her for last 3 months has got alot better this week also- dont know if this is just coincidently? The only thing she did do day before ankle prob was alot of trampolining-we have been told she has hypermobility too- I dont want to stop her doing things she enjoys but feel guilty now that trampoloining may have started this joint prob.

do not stop her doing what she wants, but also take her swimming as it helps exercise with out the weight, her ankle will prob settle down and if she finds it makes her ankle hurt she will prob not go on as much teach her to bownce on her bottom great fun will rest ankle hugs to you both val

I know nothing about JA but I do a little about trampolining and I don't think that's the culprit - that impact more on muscles. When one has arthritis, problems come and go - joints which are sore one week might not be so the following but other joints are. Have you postd on the YP forum too? That thread is specifically for how arthritis affects the younger ones, you may receive more replies there. I'm sorry I cannot help more. Dreamdaisy
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hiya

Sometimes arthritis does sneak aroungd the body and give some bits a rest for a while.

I think if I were you I would make an enquiry about whether the ankle could have some support.

Do you have access to a rheumy nurse or anyone who can get the ball rolling? If not then i would contact your GP

    Love
